  • A Bomber parked at Cunderdin Airfield

  • The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a World War II American fighter aircraft. Developed to a United States Army Air Corps requirement, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a single, central nacelle containing the pilot and armament. / Digital Artwork.

  • You know that satisfying feeling you get when you feel that you just “nailed” the shot? I’m really happy with my Shutterspeed selection to capture the prop swirl on this P-51D Mustang called “Bald Eagle”. My art with 1000+ views

  • I’m not the monkey’s uncle. Are you?

  • If I had one of these hats, I’d probably be of the same inclination.

  • Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Flying Machine / by Karin Taylor / from the ‘Inspired Series’ / / Mixed Media / ink, chalk pastel, charcoal, acyrlic, mediums / silver, gold, bronze and rose metallic acrylics / adobe photoshop My most recent work, this piece was influenced by the ‘gliders’ in my family who have taken to the sky recently. My husband, my son and their friend Erich are all involved in a local gliding club…and always suggesting I paint an aeroplane lol I thought, there’s no way i can do that! / But i found a way, after lots of thinking on the subject to incorporate a sort of flying contraption i designed myself into this piece. My girl is onward bound and it’s semi-self portrait i guess you could say…altho most people don’t see the resemblance to me….she is a lot younger, perhaps how i would like to be thought of lol Also inspired by my lovely and ever patient friend Christine / a fabulous friend and textile artist, her threads and yarn and tactile things have affected me on an immense scale, so that all my work these days is imbued with these elements….although there is no actual wool or thread in the painting, i have used these as inspiration for her scarf and hair detail. The khaki overalls are what i wear when i’m painting, with a white singlet in summer, or a jumper in winter…...i am yet to find a hairdresser who could accomplish this hairstyle for me.. the little parrot represents conscience, a little voice that knows right from wrong….this is an idea loosely taken from a movie i saw a while ago ‘The Golden Compass’ I dedicate this painting to Christine, as she has listened to all my crazy ideas, and very carefully encourages me or points out things that may help, and i don’t know where i’d be without her…..thanx Chris :) Patchwork and patterns, repitition, daisies, journeys, serene expressions, genuity…..

  • This photo was handed down to me by my dad, he has a great interest in planes so I wanted to see if there were any photos I could play with. The polished aluminium body and clouds just begged HDR so this is what I came up with. Scanned the image and imported it into Lightroom then exported it as 3 different exposures and merged it in Photomatix. Put it back into Lightroom and touched it up a bit. I decided to leave the spots of dirt and stuff for an older ‘feel’.

  • Painting of the propeller from the wreck of the Co-worker, a fishing boat abandoned in Ettrick Bay, Bute. Over the years I photographed and painted it in all stages of decay. Fascinated by the beauty of an otherwise rotting hulk. Quite sad when the winter storms finally finished her and her broken bones were taken away. The Bay looks empty now. / My Dad has the original & a print in his office which seems to have started many a curious conversation…so I thought I’d let you have a look too. (Acrylic & Charcoal onto smooth watercolour paper)

  • Noseart of a B-17G called “Liberty Belle” (SN 44-85734). This plane has been restored and travels to various airports to give spectators 30-45min rides. It is quite a sight to see and hear the engines come to live and see this beast take flight. Read more on her history here

  • The work horse of the RAF, more common that the spritfile although not as glamerous! It was made largely from more perishable materials like wood and canvas which made it cheaper and faster to repair than the spitfire. • Developed by Republic for the USAAF this was one of the toughest and heaviest single engined fighters of the war. It was also very fast and although not as manoverable as the Mustang it was well liked as in the hands of a skilled pilot it could outfly all of its most common foes. the P-4f had the ability to carry up to 8 machine guns, 2 of which were 50 cals so it was well suited to a ground attack role and subsiquently gave its name to the modern day A-10 which is use primarily used for this purpose. Now it available as a mug..Woooo! / If you love Aircraft then check out these other designs below There’s also lots of other stuff to so be sure to have a good look

  • Illustration -> Water media (watercolour, acrylic). Schoellershammer N 10 / Watercolour paper made from ‘Spanish grass’ pulp / 300g/m2. Olive was in one of those funny dreams I have. She is a brave warrior, she just wanted to bring peace to the world. She kidnapped the dove symbolising Peace. / Olive came and stop the wars; as a giant girl she walked the globe in 2 hours and fought all the killing machines by squeezing them. After all, Olive is a corageous peacemaker. I liked her a lot. A white dove with an olive branch is the symbol of peace for part of the humanity.
