My latest T shirt Cotton for the People has been featured today along with quite a few of my mates from the recently launched group A T-shirt Revolution. If you get a moment or three stop by and check out some of the work from the first group challenge – the theme is Propaganda for the Revolution and the group members have taken to it like a Peking duck to water.

Thanks to the mystery buyer of Cotton for the People!, hope you enjoy your revolt!
No doubt everyone will be doing this. Voting has opened for the first T-Shirt revolution challenge and all my opponents are running vicious campaigns based on fear and rhetoric. They are trying to brainwash you into voting for them. Don’t be fooled! You can escape their clutches by voting for ME instead! Please ignore every other journal entry from my opponents. They will likely be using all kinds of subliminal trickery. You must be strong. For the good of the people. Be strong, and vote for my shirt. The only shirt for FREE people.

The t-shirt revolution has begun. Some of RB’s best and brightest t-shirt designers have come together to start the revolution of awesome t-shirt designs (I sneaked around back and let myself in through an open window). The group, appropriately named A T-Shirt Revolution and hosted by some of RB’s greatest t-shirt gurus, is now accepting votes for its first challenge: Propaganda for the Revolution. The challenge is all about change, inspiration, and recruitment. The designers were asked to create a brand new design utilizing some form of propaganda or revolutionary symbolism that would encourage others to join the group. If you are reading this and have not had the chance to check out this group, you really should because there are some extraordinary designers over there who are beginning to enlighten people and change the face of t-shirt design on the bubble!! I know they have helped me to raise the bar in my own designs. Check out my latest (and challenge entry): There are 37 entries up for voting right now (mine is lucky #37) and I am just thrilled to be included amongst the great talent that is present there! So, I am not going to tell you to go and vote for mine per say. (I mean, if you digg it, then by all means!) Instead, it would be great if you hopped on over there and voted for you those designs that incite in you the need for change, the drive to be part of a revolution, and the emotion to join something that is going to make RB an even better site!!! And, for those of you who have not joined A T-Shirt Revolution yet, what are you waiting for? If you are a beginner, you owe it to yourself to learn from the best. If you are an established t-shirt designer, you owe it to yourself to join the revolution. And, if you are simply a fan, you are sure to find some great people and art over there!!! Get riveted! Get involved! Get creating! As Rosie the Riveter would say, “We can do it!!!”

Okay, you’ve all made me feel bad about my vicious self promotion, so I’d like to take this opportunity to kiss some babies and promise to lower taxes and fix up the education system. That and walk you through some of the excellent designs currently in competition for the coveted ‘first challenge trophy’ at the T-shirt Revolution. First up is Rubyred’s entry that basically set the standard for awesome. After seeing it I sank into a festering pit of depression. This is pro. Next is samedog’s entry, which conjures up a vision of the world in which propaganda serves a useful purpose… ie. clothing the masses. On to Bec, who was my running mate in the early stages of voting. In a way, she was the Hillary to my Barack (Oh, that was awful. I apologise.) Bec and I have been obsessed with Vietnamese propaganda posters ever since we travelled there and bought a butt-load of posters from the totally awesome Hanoi Gallery (which is also in Saigon). For those of you who don’t know, they still use this kind of imagery in current propaganda, although these days it’s mostly to do with safe sex and hygiene. Miriam Shilling’s shirt, “Join the Revolution” has a doe eyed soldier smiling serenely at us, how can you not love it? And finally, my personal favourite is Heist’s prophetic robophobic masterpiece. Fight the robots Heist, fight the robots.

It was a proud day indeed when we here at Murder Machine Industries Inc. recently received our first order for our Killbot 03: Bitter Pill Deluxe. Our manufacturing plant has since notified Head Office that the proud (mystery) owner’s unit has been built and shipped, and is now making it’s way through discrete channels to its intended destination. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Patient Zero (memo from editorial: read ‘happy customer’ ) and hope that they have as much fun using it to eliminate their intended targets as our engineer had in creating it. Have a Fruitful and Productive Day :o) - Message Ends -

We here at Murder Machine Industries Inc. proudly announce the victory of Killbot 03: Bitter Pill Deluxe in the recent Villains of the Wasteland Challenge. After a bitterly fought conflict, our bot managed to slay its way to the top of the heap. We heartily encourage all potential consumers to peruse the other villains on display to see just how formidable the competition was. Have a Fruitful and Productive Day :o) - Message Ends - / ... / ... / ... / ... / - Initiate Fourth-wall protocol - Some may argue that our bot won on votes, and not as the result of an apocalyptic battle for the ages. To those people who did vote in this contest – many thanks :o) - protocol ends – resume standard mode of operation -

Liam O’Flaherty, a distant relative, was a writer. One of his books “The Informer” was later turned into a English made movie. It was condemened at the time as anti- Irish propaganda, and a complete distortion of the book. ABC ( Australian Broadcasting Corporation—Government TV. ) have shown that movie several times over recent years, usually a couple of days after running terrorism Documentaries focusing on the IRA in Ulster. I watched it again this morning. 6th july 2009 I wish they would run documentaries outlinning the Terrorist Acts perpetrated by England on many places in the world, for a change instead of running distorted propaganda that was condemned as such when made !!! I am a seventh generation Australian, but still get called Irish. Maybe I should be.
