10/19/07 / After talking to kathleen thought I would post this to keep everyboy current! My dream was, and wil change as we find out what all might be possible! I could not make any promises before, but think I can say now, if you just beleive there is no stopping what we will do! I will do all that I personnally can, and hopefully we will be in your town before long! / / Kathleen, do not worry about a thing, some accuse me of being all over the place! My mind goes wild, and sometimes its hard to keep up with me! Or understand what I am try’n to do! So it might not be you! I try to post into my journal for information needed to follow where I am going! Most of this started as a dream! To help promote redbubble, and some of the amazing talent here on RB! IT was in their spirit of Free, that I wanted to help promote all those who beleived in this group effort! All of those who will contribute their work towards (screensaver/ tag) would have their images show as a screensaver for promotion purposes only! I had asd that they include the text into the picture, so those who seen it, would see who the artist was, and the title of your work, and that they could be found on redbubble.com! / I was hoping the images added would show support for this project, which they have, in a big way! My friend, Diana Moya, is the President of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco, Texas! She not only loved it, but started working out more details! She visioned it in every city in the local metroplex. North Central Texas, that is! We have plans now for a Flower Power Project Show late February, or early March 2008, for Frisco! We will work to get other cities added to the list, as we get this together! She wanted prices from RedBubble for 100 peices of art! I know she was going to love it, but she dreams bigger than me! But, she has done this many more times than me!She said, We will go get some spouncers! / I had dreamed of building a calloge with the images that were printed by the artist, that could afford to do so! I hoped we would find ways to help get others involved too! (But, I had made plans to build a virtual calloge, if that was all we could do!) / I had figured most artist could supply us with the smalls, and the mediums prints, mounted on foamboard, and laminated! To start building the calloge from all the pictures we could get from artist! Figured the large would be picked by the group for best, and have them printed by the artist who could do so! I had hoped that the best, would be able to at least print, mount on foamboard, and laminate! For protection, ease of hanging, and uniform look to calloge, at very little cost, again! But, could be used for promotion around town in stores, the mall, anywhere it was approved! To draw attention, for the artist, as well as the show! They would hang for promotion, and added to the calloge, just before the show! Where they will be rounded up, and put in the spaces saved for them in the calloge! It was a little more promotion, as cheap as we could do it! / Those picked best, who could afford more, like framing, or canvas, supply work without text, and we would tag below their work! Those would be in windows pointing towards foot traffic, through out the New Frisco Square! 30-40 might be even more! / I was working with others on RB, and had T shirts in the works too! I had even thought about putting the images into a book, as well! It is all up to the group, what all we make, or whatever we sale! It was my only hope to promote all involved, and hoped the groups would work together, for the benefit of the artists community, at large! / Diana Moya, never stops to surprize me, and her passion for Art is amazing! She is very talented herself, and know a lot more than me! I have learned lots from her, and from being involved with the VAGF! I am only a member, but volunteer my time when I can to help! It has been very rewarding, in many different ways! I hope this helps clear up what I wanted to do! Like before, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask! But, some details will still be developing as we work this all out! I hope you will contribute what you can, because its your involvement that makes this project! I am just the guy with the Dream, you are the ones who are making them come true! So, thanks for your beleiving! This would not be happening without your talents, your support, and your passion! / If everybody agrees, I would really like the project dedicated to those eho served, and helped protect your Freedom! If you are with me stil, please add the tag ( troops)to your images! I truely have the most amazing friends, and am blessed to have each and every one! One of the flowers in the Valentine’s bouquet my husband sent me yesterday. That was the best part of my Valentine’s. The rest of the 14th I spent in a women’s health center taking assorted tests. Ugh!

I’m toying with the idea of making my own cards to sell at our newspaper offices and other shops in our small town. I’m not completely satisfied with this but with practice maybe I’ll get better.

This is a century plant in Big Bend, Texas in full bloom. I took it last year on spring break and the dessert was aglow with blooming cactus due to a higher than normal rainfall total.

In the Texas hill country last Spring. We have former First Lady – Ladybird Johnson for many of the beautiful wildflowers along the highways in Texas. It was a big campaign of hers.

Taken in Big Bend National Park in Texas last spring. The ocatillo cactus were fantastic due to a higher than normal rain fall last year.

It’s funny but the Bluebonnets in Big Bend, Texas grow much taller and more “spindley” than the other Bluebonnets in Texas. I suppose it all has to do with weather and soil conditions, etc. In the Big Bend area they have a contest each year to see who can find the tallest bluebonnet. The way they crown a winner is from photos taken with yardsticks beside the flowers. I had to a picture since the bluebonnets were different than the ones from our area. Taken with a Canon D30 on automatic mode. Touched up with auto levels and unsharp mask just a bit.

Sweet and delicate water lilies in a pond around Fredericksberg, Texas last Spring. Taken with a Canon D30 in automatic settings and touched up in photoshop with 3D filter for DOF.

I believe that this is a Primrose but I might be wrong. I loved the way the light was playing off the leaves of the bush and the rose, even though almost spent, looked lovely. I found this bush at my daughter’s home in the country in Knox County, Texas. The only adjustments used in photoshop were auto levels and unsharp mask.

The first thing I do every morning is say “Thank you, Lord, for another day!” and then I look to see if the sun is shining. Taken in greater Clyde, Texas – in my sister’s neighbor’s yard. I didn’t adjust the hue and saturation but I did use unsharp mask in photoshop and 3D Render Transform.

This is an example of what I was talking about, as for as text for showing the artist who have added to the expression! This way artists can add their work without having to add text to their images! I plan on displayment of each Artists, and title of work, maybe where they live! / This is the start of getting this put together! A test to see if what I was thinking about was going to look as good as I thought! Many amazing friends generously contributed to my project, and they are going to be seen for about a month, or more if approved for longer! Those who added color to my first project to run, and all forgive me for not being able to set it all up! This year, I will not let you down, and doing it again! / Theres some changes, my time as one of the Boardmembers of Visual Arts Guild, has come to a close! There is no group to join, and still looking on including all that would like to add! I said all along, I am not going to give up, until we have done everything I had hoped! Set a new World Record, and make a statement by all who have added some color! / We are only accepting images of flowers, and only wanting .jpeg files of the creation you create! Get as creative as you like, and snap a shot! What you do, and what you use are up to your imagination! As long as its a flower, I want it! / I will try to group them, as I can! I do reserve the right, to remove any image that I feel is not suitable! / Not going to ask for any work, other then jpeg files, which allows most to be involved at no cost! I will be working on setting up everything we will need, so you will be able to see this before the Event!
