  • This is a century plant in Big Bend, Texas in full bloom. I took it last year on spring break and the dessert was aglow with blooming cactus due to a higher than normal rainfall total.

  • In the Texas hill country last Spring. We have former First Lady – Ladybird Johnson for many of the beautiful wildflowers along the highways in Texas. It was a big campaign of hers.

  • Taken in Big Bend National Park in Texas last spring. The ocatillo cactus were fantastic due to a higher than normal rain fall last year.

  • It’s funny but the Bluebonnets in Big Bend, Texas grow much taller and more “spindley” than the other Bluebonnets in Texas. I suppose it all has to do with weather and soil conditions, etc. In the Big Bend area they have a contest each year to see who can find the tallest bluebonnet. The way they crown a winner is from photos taken with yardsticks beside the flowers. I had to a picture since the bluebonnets were different than the ones from our area. Taken with a Canon D30 on automatic mode. Touched up with auto levels and unsharp mask just a bit.

  • Sweet and delicate water lilies in a pond around Fredericksberg, Texas last Spring. Taken with a Canon D30 in automatic settings and touched up in photoshop with 3D filter for DOF.

  • A portion of my “welcome home from the hospital” bouquet. They really brightened my day with their Spring colors and delicate pedals.

  • I’m not sure what this little climber is but isn’t it pretty? If anyone knows it’s name please advise. Taken in Knox county, Texas with a Canon D30. Tweeked in photoshop with unsharp mask filter and 3d Transform Render.

  • I believe this is a redbud tree. They are so striking. Taken with a Canon D30 in Munday, Texas. Adjusted slightly in photoshop with unsharp mask filter and 3D Transform render.

  • It was windy day and these guys were hanging on trying to get to that sweet nectar. They provided me much entertainment since I was totally bored! Taken in Munday, Texas with a Canon D30. I nearly always use the 3D transform which helps with DOF. Also adjusted saturation and hue ever so slightly.

  • I guess Iris have been popular forever – they always intrigue me. I have loved this little shed’s shutters forever and thought they looked so sweet with the Iris. Situated in Munday, Texas. Cropped, tweeked with photoshop using unsharp mask and 3D Transform Render.

  • I hesitated to post my wisteria picture because jonicool just posted an absolutely awesome shot of wisteria – but everything she does is incredible. Anyway, I hope you like it. Taken in Knox County, Texas with a Canon D30. Photoshopped with slight adjustments in hue and saturation and 3D Transform render.

  • I believe that we are all like these daisies in God’s eyes. Beautiful, dainty, dependent yet strong. Nature can speak wonders, can’t it? Taken in Clyde, America, Texas with a Canon D30. Cropped and filtered with unsharp mask and 3D Transform Render in Photoshop.
