Another request from me bro… The name Deadmau5 (pronounced dead mouse) comes from an incident where a mouse crawled into Joel Zimmerman’s computer. Dead mouse was too long for a site login name so he abbreviated it to be “Deadmau5”. Here’s a little youtube vid to put things into perspective. At the printers… /

The sun sets on this old house, in more ways than one. I believe it shall soon be no more, it’s life given for a a new housing estate. No-one lives there now, but soon there’ll be hundreds of little blocks with little houses and not-so-little morgages!

  • This is a large canvas painted with oils and was completed over a period of about three months. It depicts the same figure that is progressing upward and to the right of the canvas. The figure changes in color, in my attempts to show an evolution of change from the physical/tangible world to the more spiritual and incomprehensible realm. The lighter figure is balancing with his hands the flower (Which are actually real, pressed tulip petals) that descend downward and transform into the blast from the rocket, which is near the other hand that holds a broken hourglass with the sands of time spewing out to create an entirely new universe. There is a multitude of symbols and metaphors that are related here, but overall I think there is a balance that is created between them all (as subject, and in coloration). A major idea related in the title, suggests the inevitable growth from the very essence and purity of nature into a more complex, refined, and developed state of existence. This, to me expresses many underlying mysteries and questions pertaining to the direction and technological development of human existence. I often times feel that we live in a time and place where technology precedes our own humanity. Completed in 2002.
