This tested my patience … really did – LOL Held the glass upside down to fill in smoke. Quickly inverted it and clicked the smoke escaping. So many tries …... Edited the title after the first comment from Nicollette (PinPix) :-) Used to be “Brimful of smoke” View my other Glass pics
In my 8th grade World History class, my teacher Mr. Billings wrote on one of my term papers: “To a gentleman and a scholar…” and I never forgot that. Here is an image I saw of mosaics on a NY Subway wall that I enhanced on PhotoShop that I call “The Scholar”.

Some years ago, I had to photograph academics doing their thing. The main protagonist tells me: “The maths describes the clustering of high points in the density field. At the time, we thought galaxies might form there (in some circumstances, we still do).” And I watched him write it out, without his having to use a cheat sheet; you don’t become Professor for nothing.
A book and gravity are comparative. / A comfortable place is imperative. / A cat on the lap is superlative. / And a nap and some tea / Always do it for me. / ____ / This photo is totally unposed—it was taken by / my husband, Kelly, when I was sound asleep. / The book on my head is a grammar book. / The cat peeking at the camera is Nevada. / She’s 16 years old now and looks / just the same. This is a drawing of my Breast Cancer Professor’s hand expressing my gratitude for his skill and care. The hearts at the centre represent my breasts. They may not be whole but they are not (I hope) threatening to shorten my life. The pink shells represent all the women whose breasts he has the care of. The blue jagged edge is to show how his ability to treat people is limited by society (especially bureaucrats who think research to benefit women should wait). This is part of a series of hand and feet drawings. Done in gel pen on 80gsm paper. Maybe other people would like to give them as thank you’s. / If you would like one custom made please feel free to bubblemail me,
ELEMENTS !“ELEMENTS” was featured in the group ART IN MATH / ELEMENTS is actually an experimentation of sorts , and it all started at College on a recent afternoon while sitting in class with my camera. I take / group photos for some of my College Professors from time to time, and this was one of those days. While waiting on my Instructor to arrive, I looked out / the window and couldn’t resist taking a shot or two of the side of the building. In Photoshop I enlarged the image and then began my quest of processing / to a further degree. I used various filters, added a little color, tweaked at the / contrast, and played around with different lighting techniques until I was pleased with the final results. Photo taken at ACTC in Ashland, Kentucky with my DSLR Canon 40D.
We’ve all been there.

If you believe in the Christian perspective on the creation of man (or not), have you ever wondered if this is how it went down?
