The grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone is a tough picture to take. It is too big for even my super wide angle lens to get it all. The blue glow above the blue water has to be seen to be believed. The vapors from the hot water do act as a prism of sorts.

The Wife and I were driving towards a very big lake during a hard frozen landscape in the dead of winter. There was a cloud of frozen crystals coming up from the lake and the light was painting for us on the ice crystals. I would have loved to make the colors deeper on the prism but it would take away from the sky..

The random pattern of contrails from a missile ‘droan’ that was released from White Sands New Mexico. A tracking missile is sent up to track and destroy the droan,causing the exploded center of the image. The colors are caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere separating the light in to its primary colors like a prism. Taken around 4:30 a.m. from White Mountain Lakes Arizona.

A few years ago there was a guru called SaiBaba, he produced this picture of Jesus from nowhere, literally, I have it framed in front of me on the desk, when the prism hit it this afternoon, I thought I would give the Christians amongst us a treat, and anyone else who just likes nice pictures. oil on canvas – 26×36 in this is the full work that spawned the detail image which got posted about a week ago. a study in oil colors contrasting with black/white/gray. just realized that i could have thrown a little indigo and violet in there and had the full spectrum. hmmmm… not sure why i didn’t! as always, done only with palette knives. headed to an art gallery in greenville, sc, along with “fluidity 1” and “fluidity 2”. :0)

by ccwri~ Prism Sky ~ / Winter sky picking up ice crystal in the atmosphere, and Clouds. / This is a very rare event. I took this Dec 1 2006……. I’m sure all in the area will remember this treacherous ice storm. This was taken the day after, and the temperature was at 8 below, with the clouds moving in. With the angle of the sun just right this ice prism appeared casting its rainbow of colors across the sky. Then it left as fast as it came. It all happened so fast,. This is the first time I have ever seen this, and most likley will be my last. Prism Sky is Dedicated to Prerna / / /

I took this sometime in the summer in my bathroom. There was a giant spiderweb on the window so I sprayed it with water… most of it ended up on the window which is the bokeh you seen in the background. Enjoy!
