You can’t go to Italy without seeing the Roman Coliseum. This is one of the most magnificent pieces of art I have seen. It’s weathered skin only adds to its mystery and history. I was honored to have been able to visit.

I met this little lady on Saturday at a wedding. No, she was not the bride! Her name is pronounced (roughly) blaheen, which is Irish for little flower. This is a photo of apple blossoms which I have given a watercolour look by messing about with various filters in PhotoImpact. I think it makes a nice card.
A daisy-like flower. I shot this in the evening, after rain, at iso 1600 to see how the camera would handle this setting. The image was cropped slightly. There was a small amount of noise at 100%, so I used noise reduction in postprocessing, and applied a small amount of usm. / Canon EOS 450D 18-55mm lens
