This is my second attempt at HDR photography. This was taken at Oakbank, in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia, overlooking Appletree Cottage and the dam there. Late autumn and late afternoon. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.

This painting is a memory of a trip my husband and I took earlier this year to the beautiful island. Taken a few miles east of Leicester, near Allexton. Its that time in the UK, just before the wheat gets harvested – heavy heads beginning to nod gently under the weight of the grain, and the weather unable to decide whether it is summer or not, threatening to flatten the crop, just it is ready. Leicestershire is full of distant horizons like this, and the Barley is all but in now, much of the ground already having been put under the plough in readiness for the next crop.

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery View from Mt Kaputar Stopped to take in this spectacular view on my way up to the Summit of Mt Kaputar, New South Wales, Australia. Mount Kaputar National Park is located on 36,817 hectares and is 50 kilometres east of Narrabri and 570 kilometres north west of Sydney. Mount Kaputar National Park consists of a gathering of sharp peaks and rocky ranges, the remnants of a 17 million year old volcano. Millions of years of erosion have carved this volcanic pile into the Nandewar Range, with its dramatic landscape of lava terraces, volcanic plugs and ring dykes. At the peak of the range is Mt Kaputar, which reaches an altitude of 1510m. From the summit it is possible to take in 360 degree views encompassing one tenth of NSW. The National Park is popular with rockclimbers. There are 11 walks in the national park, most offering spectacular views of the area. The park protects a wide variety of plant communities, including semi-arid woodlands, wet eucalypt forests and subalpine heaths. Wildflowers in spring provide a magnificent display. It’s home to a host of animal species, and provides a haven for many threatened species – including bats, birds, wallabies, quolls and a unique large pink slug, which often appears after rain. Taken on a very rare snowy morning in Bristol on my way to work. / Its the first time I have shot in the snow and the first time I have used my new tripod, so I was able to get nice slow speeds with a tight aperture. / A little work in PS to correct the colour and sharpen etc. Taken with a Nikon D70 and a CPL.

My first pastel Australian landscape painting. Imagine tranquil pools of still water, surrounded by worn rock, soft grasses swaying in the breeze. Take in the majestic and photogenic landscape, listen to nature and refresh your soul! I walked alone into a tranquil land / felt the coolness of the water with the palm of my hand / I looked up to the sky and turned my face to the sun / lost in the moment, with nature I was one….... a magic place to be.

Cradle Mountain forms the northern end of the wild Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair National Park, itself a part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. The jagged contours of Cradle Mountain epitomise the feel of a wild landscape. The Cradle Mountain region is an area of marked geological contrasts. The region has been extensively shaped by glacial erosion and deposition over the past 2 million years. The various glaciers which covered the area have left behind a variety of glacial features including the U-shaped valley of the Dove River. I turn off the television and walk through heat waves to eat sweets from the freezer, light cigarettes, blow kisses to shadows, feel along the floor for lost treasure and end up, once again, slapping color on canvas. / I see in my head a shape and wonder where it comes from. Is this a dream, a memory, a longing, a sudden flash from subliminal visions, a past live, a sign of the future or just the mad rambling of my hands letting something flow flow flow. / I remember the first time I saw the California coastline and it was like a dream. A foggy cold day in November and figures appeared as if they were waiting for me. I wondered if that was what death was like. / I remember an image of DNA on television. I can’t quite grasp how they illustrate something like that. I remember singing once in church when I was about ten years old and I thought the organ music was energy from God. I remember seeing seasides and always knowing that I belonged in the water, was part of the water, would return to the ocean waves on time that has no time that has no shape that has everything. Washing up onto a shore. Washing away sins. Washing over naked flesh and sweeping away clothing and washing overboard the dreams as well as the struggles. Washing over sand that glistens and hills that shine in the sun that drifts lazily from mountain to valley bringing darkness. And then light. And then shadow. / Continuing. Even when it evaporates. I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door. An acrylic painting 50cm x 60cm on canvas of Mill Beach, Australia. A beautiful part of the coastline of Australia where I was taken to recently for a surprise anniversary trip by my husband. The view was spectacular with its sparkling Blue water which contrasted with the Orange colours in the rock formations. A moment in time now captured on canvas to share with you.
