  • ‘DEMO’ – Wreckers shorthand for ‘Demolish’... BEST VIEWED LARGE On the weekend I had the pleasure of hooking up with my mate Daz (aka MaxHamish) for a spot of photography, which we had planned to do for awhile. / After a caffeine hit in Carlton we decided that although having no plan as such, that we would jump in the car and head ‘west’, hoping to find some ‘cool old buildings’ that might be nice to photograph. Well about 2k down the road we came across the Old Melbourne Brewing and Malting Co.(est.1883) better known as Carlton Brewery, and responsible for the famous Carlton Ale’s. / The facade it seemed was obviously being saved, probably given its very solid state and obvious history, heritage listed. However, it was the lovely derelict interior spaces that caught our eye and we wasted no time taking, in my case,100 or so shots. These are a couple of them, in diptych. MaxHamish

  • I revisited granville island again a few days ago, and revisited this part of the park where i shot “Afternoon in the Park”, and spotted this elderly lady and her dog. She was playing with her dog, which was quite well trained from the looks of it, and followed her every command. It was quite entertaining to watch actually. For some reason she knew i was going to school and taking photography courses. She asked me if I went to Emily Carr University, which was located in granville island as well, not too far from this location, and i just said no…. anyways, hope you guys like this piece. wish it was a bit brighter that day. i find the flash kind of takes away from the ambient mood of this place and shot. Location: Granville Island, Vancouver BC Canada. I’m so happy that this image was used to promote a new challenge for the Which Way, Walk way, Path Ways club on november 18, 2009 http://www.redbubble.com/groups/which-way/challenges/13142-walkways-with-an-animal

  • i just love nice, sunny afternoons like this. i took this shot last august during a family barbeque. i just saw these two ladies sitting down in a park bench, talking. / it just reminded me of the old, vintage photographs from the 30’s. another thing that attracted me was the sunbeams shining thru the trees, and creating shadows giving the picture a certain depth. hope you like it. Location : Jericho Beach, Kitsilano Vancouver BC / Canada
