You know how life can seem like you woke up inside a Carnival some days? Well, I sure do! Welcome inside one of my moments like that--yes—-you DO know what it feels like. This one was inspired by a recent family “get-together”—you know where folks that don’t realllly ever talk at all, are thrown together with “adult beverages” and tongue loosen—and sometimes toooo loose! A black-capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) pauses on a narrow elder branch to scan the area for food. Looks like some primary feathers are still developing along the lower part of the wing: The bird is just a kid. There are also a few white feathers above the eye—a hint of an eyebrow, perhaps?
