This is a ruby red lacewing butterfly, and the way it had it’s proboscis inserted into the flower made me think of that moment when we first get a nice thick milkshake, and we are sucking hard on the straw, fighting against the frozen delight to extract it’s sweet creaminess!

I’m going through a lot of old files these days and trying to organize everything… I’m not very good at organizing files, haha. Some wedding lace that grows in my backyard in the summer. Enjoy!

Something from the vault… another dandelion photo… I just keep discovering these, haha. There’s a gold mine of them on my hard drive. I don’t remember what I used as the background for this, but I edited the saturation to make the red really pop and it reminded me of star bursts. You know the candy, hehe… Enjoy!

These are the same roses from Valentine’s Day with the velvetly petals. I adjusted the white balance on my camera before shooting to give it a bluish tone. It looks like crushed eyeshadow to me…:D Shot with a sigma 105mm macro, indoors with flash. Enjoy!

“The Party” or the party goer..either way her eyes speak volumes as all the other in the series do…the party goes on…is it life…the chatter, unrhymed, no listeners, mistrust? / “You cannot read me like an open book, I’m more myself than you will ever look”, the poem states…and later “Will no one listen to my song, i shan’t be with you very long”...a lot to think about... Gouache and WAtercolour on Arches Not Paper Unrhymed, unrhythmical, the chatter goes: / Yet no one hears his own remarks as prose. / Beneath each topic tunelessly discussed / The ground-bass is reciprocal mistrust. / The names in fashion shuttling to and fro / Yield, when deciphered, messages of woe. / You cannot read me like an open book. / I’m more myself than you will ever look. / Will no one listen to my little song? / Perhaps I shan’t be with you very long. / A howl for recognition, shrill with fear, / Shakes the jam-packed apartment, but each ear / Is listening to its hearing, so none hear...Auden / The Beauty / The Star / The Night / The Disguise / The Temptation / The Quiet / The Plea / Le Maquillage / The Queen / The Masquerade / The Cameo

We see you as we see a face / That trembles in a forest place / Upon the mirror of a pool / Forever quiet, clear and cool; / And in the wayward glass, appears / To hover between smiles and tears, / Elfin and human, airy and true, / And backed by the reflected blue...Katharine by / R.L.Stevenson When this painting was finished, I could not help but think of Stevenson’s “Katharine” and her “elfin” face…this delicate “quiet and cool” beauty seems to “mirror” his “trembling face, hovering between smiles and tears”.. I made this fractal using my Doodle Batch Script in Apophysis. The globes were added post-processing. This is made in Apophysis 2.08 3D Hack. Climbing the stairs to nowhere…..never ending, infinitely rising….. This is my entry into the Because I feel like it Challenge by Fractal Energy Passion and it came in 1st Place! YAY!!
