“In Control” Take a look through my eyes / maybe then you will see / you are my children and / I love you, immeasurably! I have faith in you / so, have faith in me too / “Believe in Yourself” / and all that you do! Life is confusing / sometimes, I know / it’s lifes way to help us / mature as we grow You’re a strong person / with so much to give / strive hard for success / and a better life to live Have pride and self worth / dont live in the past / start now on your future / so your happiness will last Make up your mind now / it is time to decide / are you behind the wheel driving… / or just along for the ride?? When my daughter was a small child, she said to me as we left the house and made our way down the side walk. “I want bock bock shoes, just like mommy.” I was nonplused for a minute, and then it occurred to me, that was the sound of my ex-wife’s high heeled shoes walking up the side walk. Since that time I have considered how children communicate their needs and wants in ways that make us look at the world in an entirely new way. MCN: C5167-3978C-ED1C5
I was given this ex library book from my home town by a man who ended up taking advantage of me. So I decided to use the book in a way to express myself. This first page is about being haunted by memories. How you try your best to move on, but it’s apart of who you are now. You can’t pretend it isn’t, you just have to learn to live with it. And live on. Old novel page, gesso, ink / 2008
As I waited for the bus to arrive, I stood in the crowd / Pretend to be someone, as I look around the people / They wearing masks, pretending to be putting on a normal face / Out in the open. I am a pretender, living in this wild jungle / I pretend to act, acting to fit in. / I pretend life is just one big act, as a main character / I’ve gotten to the stage where my true self must kept / hidden, cause I knew not body can ever understand / “The real me”. © By Hung Lin 2008

About The last sunrise of 2008! Taken at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. This was the first time for me there and Lance. It’s a sweet spot and looks fantastic for Sunset also. Climbing down to the the rocks is a little tricky though, rather slippery but no match for my Keen’s! I was sitting on a rock when I took this. The interesting thing is the surfers – they just jump across the rocks in bare feet! There was a large group of them later in the surf with an purple flare – I assume to signal the end of 2008! - ISO 100, f11, 21 sec, 10mm / - Sigma 10-20mm Lens / - Tripod with sand in the joints Processing - HDR using Photomatix (2, 0, 2) / Unsharp mask / - Soft Light Layer / - Dodging and burning to bring out the rocks a bit more / - Noise Ninja in Photoshop to remove excess noise / - Horizon straighten and resulting crop
This was taken in December 1999 when I was 54 at my firm’s dance with a point and shoot film camera. Digitalized, cropped and turned to B&W. This was in the lobby which had a piano and way too tempting not to try—i’ve never been very good at playing insturments but singing and dancing, no problem – the dress was very sparkly – i don’t get dressed up too often!!! / Sorry no techs.
my daily self portrait on flickr with my canon 1000d and my lovely 50mm at f1.8 / Spring is here and I’m wearing my polka dot dress again! Ok I’ll wash my clothes tomorrow lol So many photos to edit so little time! I had the busiest day i just havnt stopped working! / I changed the background, it wasn’t a sky it was trees took a few hours to do / I dig my toes into the sand / The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds / Strewn across a blue blanket / I lean against the wind / Pretend that I am weightless / And in this moment I am happy…happy / I wish you were here – Incubus
The song, “Simple Kind of Life” (I think that’s what it’s called) by No Doubt is running through my head. Trying to work through some things…

The first day of spring always make me want to uncoil myself from my cave and see what’s woken up, now that winter has finished. Sometimes, it’s me.
The red couche against the wall of an old house… Yes I admit, ‘house’ is a big word.

30cm x 30cm acrylic painting completed 13 November 2009. / Painted on 300gsm acrylic paper Courtesy Wikipedia Earle K. Bergey (August 26, 1901 – 1952) was an American illustrator who painted cover art for a wide diversity of magazines and paperback books. Today Bergey is best recognized for creating the iconic cover of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes for Popular Library at the height of his career in 1948. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bergey attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 1921 to 1926. He initially went to work in the art department of the Philadelphia’s Public Ledger, and he drew the comic strip Deb Days in 1927. Early in his career, Bergey contributed many covers to the pulp magazines of publisher Fiction House. By the mid 1930s, Bergey made a home and studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and he married in 1935. Many of his paperbacks are now cult classics, some featuring hidden self-portraits. Bergey died suddenly in 1952 in a doctor’s office with family at his side. The cover of La Paree Stories (1935) (adapted from the original ‘Pretty as A Peacock) is in the Public Domain due to failure to comply with required formalities (ie. 1923 through 1977 published without a copyright notice). / Original Image can be seen here and here / / / ! / My zazzle gallery has a premium range of gifts that are suitable for people of all ages and tastes: an eclectic collection of unusually imaginative, hip and sometimes beautiful designs. The Jacobite rebellion of 1745 to 1746 which ended on Culloden Moore. A shameful moment in Brittish military history. Long after the battle of Culloden the atrocities continued & the Highland clearances begun. / This artwork is dedicated to all the brave men & women involved in that rebellion. / Their bravery & sacrafice will not be forgotten. / This is my tribute to their memory. /
