Islamorada, Florida USA Being Native American, Cherokee tribe, one can appreciate the shock factor I received when, on my birthday, I looked up at the sky to find this… a perfect arrowhead! My Granny raised me and named me. So, I wouldnt put it past her to show herself to me using the Sky on my birthday. This image is very special to me because in my heart I feel this was her way of letting me know she is still right here with me… everyday. And as long as I live life right, we will one day be together again in Heaven. I love you Granny! Not a day goes by that I dont think of you. I implement every precious bit of wisdom you so lovingly handed to me in everything I do. I live to make you proud because I know you are watching… you promised. / __ / / / ______ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. A perpetually extending tunnell, but with interference from the top left corner offsetting the balance. / The inside ring appears to be ‘staring’ at the beholder. Looked at diagonally, it also appears to be a single-eyed face smiling in a rather weird way.

Dogmas…religious, political, scientific…arise out of the erroneous belief that thought can encapsulate reality or the truth. Dogmas are collective conceptual prisons. And the strange thing is that people love their prison cells because they give them a sense of security and false sense of “I know.” / Nothing has inflicted more suffering on humanity than its dogmas. It is true that every dogma crumbles sooner or later, because reality will eventually disclose its falseness; however, unless the basic delusion of it is seen for what is is, it will be replaced by others. Eckhart Tolle.

Similar, but not quite the same, two flowers born from the same plant find presence and jostle for position in the morning light. I’ve always loved Margaret Widdemer’s poem, “The Watcher.” I’ve coupled it with an image I took of a steeple of a very old church in Houston, Texas. I hope that those who have suffered the loss of a mother will find comfort in this photo. My mother is still alive and I am grateful for her; I created this image for those whose mothers are no longer with them and who suffer loneliness, especially during the holidays and on birthdays and anniversaries of death.

After reading about violinist Josh Bell’s experiment in Washington, D.C. (see my latest journal entry), I added text from the article in the Washington Post about Americans’ lack of aesthetic values to this photo of a sunset at Lake Martin. This photo is also included in this portfolio without the words seen here. Sometimes, it’s a good idea to just STAND AND STARE at the beauty around us!

The day was perfect – midday Autumn sun shining on waving golden African grass. This lovely animal was standing outside the fence, close to the road as we neared Middelburg, MP, South Africa after my photo shoot at Buffalo Gorge. I had to stop to take a pic of him! On closer inspection, I saw he had a lot of ticks on him! The farmer clearly did not dip him in a long while! All photos and artworks in this gallery are the property of the artist who has complete copyright until otherwise stated. Captured in June 2008. For buying info, see top right of this page. / /

This dramatic tree combines strength and delicacy and has a nostalgic feeling about it. It appears to embrace us with its timeless quality enhanced by the sepia tones. We could be looking at this image at any time and space. I have often said that trees are nature’s most beautiful sculpture and the lines and majestic presence of this image is a great example.

9×9” color lino print. this one has colors not quite as discordant as my other print, The Final Presence. proof of the Presence, or stairway into madness, whichever you’d like. study in discord colors. Inspired by NIN lyrics to The Wretched: the clouds will part and the sky cracks open / and god himself will reach his fucking arm through / just to push you down / just to hold you down
