Sleep, those little slices of death, how i loathe them. Oil on canvas 70×70 / still thinking about the title but this song was playing. still painting this with the help of my awesome mentor, Paul D Robertson, who also helped with providing a series of photographs of myself to draw and paint (there are more in my gallery) . so unfinished. / Check out My Latest Series / ‘Precious Illusions’- Alanis Morissette you’ll rescue me right? in the exact same way they never did.. / I’ll be happy right? when your healing powers kick in you’ll complete me right? then my life can finally begin / I’ll be worthy right? only when you realize the gem I am? but this won’t work now the way it once did / and I won’t keep it up even though I would love to / once I know who I’m not then I’ll know who I am / but I know I won’t keep on playing the victim these precious illusions in my head did not let me down when I was defenseless / and parting with them is like parting with invisible best friends this ring will me yet as will you knight in shining armor / this pill will help me yet as will these boys gone through like water but this won’t work as well as the way it once did / cuz I want to decide between survival and bliss / and though I know who I’m not I still don’t know who I am / but I know I won’t keep on playing the victim these precious illusions in my head did not let me down when I was a kid / and parting with them is like parting with a childhood best friend I’ve spent so long firmly looking outside me / I’ve spent so much time living in survival mode

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

I won’t sell this piece, and it is the only one. I have had offers before, but I am glad I didn’t accept them still. It’s painted on plasterboard I stole from a building site as at the time I couldn’t afford canvas, or even board. / The figure is me – I had long hair at the time… / It is the last piece I did before I quit drinking – TEN YEARS AGO TODAY – the 20th of december… The title is from my favourite Tori Amos song, from her first album.

This is a collaborative transatlantic entry between myself and the incredibly talented and totally awesome billyboy in Belgium for RedBubbles Gaia – The Living Planet competition. Now, I’m not a religious person, but I wanted to illustrate by using billyboys Noah’s Ark image that if we dont start taking care of this planet we are living on I truly / believe we will be in for a disaster of biblical proportions. All that is beautiful and wondrous will simply disappear… like so many ephemeral bubbles. We are all interconnected, and we must find our harmony with Gaia, or risk losing it all. Many thanks to billyboy for sharing my vision, and giving so generously of his time, blood, tears and love to bring this vision into glorious life. Here is an old macro of a water drop in a bougainvillea flower. I’ve sat on this one for a while but always kept coming back to it so finally decided to share! I title this image ‘precious’, for the precious resource which I photographed; water.

Went out riding around looking for barns. There ws one barn we wanted to be pics of-the people were outside so we asked if we could take pictures of the barn- to our great surprise to told us they had 3 – 1 week old babies and they let us go in to see them / /

Captured at the Calgary Zoo, The Red Panda is considered rare among animals on the endangered species list. Estimates say less than 2500. They can be found generally in high altitudes such as Nepal and China. These cute little animals spend most of their lives living in trees, and live off of bambo. Curently habitat infringement and destuction are its number one threat of extinction. /

The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. This is a puppy called Uno. He is an “American” Pit Bull Terrier. I was splitting a litter with a girl who got his Mom from me in 2008. Tragically he was the only puppy of 11 who survived. He is now in a wonderful home with a Mom and Dad and 3 kids who just adore him.
