This child watched through a broken window as we worked inside. Taken at Silverton, New South Wales / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——- / “Drought Breaker “ / As the farmer knelt down on the salty sand, / He needed rain to save his land. / The crops were wilting, the cattle all dead, / He looked around, not a word was said. The ground was dry, where is the rain? / What could stop this worthless pain? / The farmer cursed in sheer despair, / He did not have a drop to spare. A thundercloud covers the western sky, / A bolt of lightning explodes near by. / The farmer looks up and begins to pray, / Hoping that the rain will come his way. Then drip-by-drip it starts to fall, / The crystal water like a clear glass wall. / The trees and flowers all in bloom, / Then once again, gone is the gloom. Toned Black and White Photomontage From the Safara series..A contemplative woman photographed on a remote dry lake bed in the Mojave desert, a place that seems to breathe with a meditative emptiness. I wanted to create an image illustrating a woman’s inherent connection to the planet, that she was earth in her essential nature. The photo montage was made in camera.On a tripod the lake bed was photographed, then the film was backed up in the camera, and she was photographed on the same section of film, creating perfect registration of cracked earth blending into her figure.

This is an image I shot at Seaside Beach on the Monterey Peninsula on June 12, 2008…...the land to the left is Monterey and Cannery Row…....I wish I had the story that goes with this cross, but unfortunately I do not…......I just know that I can’t visit Monterey without going to this spot and taking another photo…..some of you have seen this cross in my other images…... /

This shot was taken at Dawn from the building I work in it shows the Spire of St Francis Xavier Church at Lavender Bay in the North Sydney CBD. The Sydney Harbour Bridge links the North Sydney CBD with the Sydney CBD. There has been a church on the site since the early days of the settlement of the colony of Sydney Town. The shot was taken using a Nikon D300, Nikon 18 – 200mm lens , for any Nikononians the 18-200mm lens is wonderful it comes in handy as a all purose lens. The shot was created from 4 exposures and processed with Photomatix HDR software. So continues my exploration of HDR.. its fun
