I was going to leave ‘Seasons’ open to your own interpretation, but painting this pic brought back memories of ‘The Seekers’ singing ‘There is a Season….turn, turn, turn…’. If you look closely, you can see the handwritten bible verse in tiny writing around the heads of the three :D Instead of leaving it open for interpretation, as I’m submitting this to The Healing Journey forum for a music/art competition, I will try to explain what the image depicts. This is my family and I am the hands, although the hands also represent God. The boat is a metaphor for our journey through life, and the waters are somewhat turbulent beneath, my family is being supported by myself at great cost sometimes to me personally and God is also supporting…if you like, imagine it is God’s hands super-imposed over my hands, so that I have strength to do what I am called to do, imparting a protective and nurturing boundary around my beautiful family…..making home a sanctuary, and a safe place, it is a labour of love and the weight of carrying and nurturing can be extremely heavy sometimes, but also very rewarding. There is my daughter, my son, and my husband in the boat…and the symbol of the greek cross on the vessel indicates that my family belong to Christ, and we will be Conquerors in this life and in the next, as we pass through all of life’s testing and difficulty, we will be made stronger and have our characters’ hewn and shaped, and wisdom will come as a result. Bonded together through adversity, trial, separation and togetherness, we will learn how to work together as a team to achieve harmony, joy and satisfaction…we will support one another when life’s journey becomes all too hard and we want to give up…then there will be one of us to support the one who is down….and this will be reciprocated later when the other is down….. instead of destroying one another, we will build each other up, and make each other stronger for the fight, for the journey….we will encourage one another all the more when we are failing and losing sight of our goals….we will not give up on one another…and even if the world is not interested in us, we will be interested in one another, and remember one another in prayer and thought and spirit and heart. We will cheer one another one to be courageous and to persevere, no matter life’s challenges. And through each of the seasons of life, birth, death, life, healing, laughing, dancing, moving, scattering, gathering, giving up, giving voice, mending, loving, hating, mourning…..we will stick together and support one another. The symbol is The Greek Cross which is complemented with the first and last letters of the Greek name for Jesus (IC), the first and last letters of the Greek word for Christ (XC) and the Greek word for Conqueror (NIKA). My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

This is a little bridge in my piece of the woods after the first snow. All is calm and quiet. Even the deer seemed to be walking gingerly – not wanting to disturbed the “peace”. Some may even say that the picture portrays a feeling of “eerie-ness” but for me, it’s just the quietness and serenity. In Revelation after all the judgments have taken place, John reveals the finish and end of the reign of evil upon the Earth and Christ is glorified. He is victorious and honored by His creation. Re 19:1: ¶ And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: / Re 19:5: ¶ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. / Re 19:6: And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. I was working with a combination of an image I got several years ago from a newspaper story about the shroud of Turin. The original image was very poor and I had to recreate the face using the newspaper image as a model. Then I worked with I worked with Micrografx, Photoshop, Photomatrix and Apophysis to create the finished work. I experimented a little and got several works that I really like. I hope you enjoy them. Although we do not know what Christ really looked like because the Hebrew people did not draw or paint images of anyone because it was against their religion, we do have ideas we have formed based upon legend and theories that have been passed down through time and have become a generally accepted image that comes to mind when we think of Christ. This series is inspired by scripture from the Holy Bible. This is the eighth of nine in the series. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain.
