  • The lighthouse stands alone. / It leads a solitary existence whose purpose is to shine light into dark places. No two lighthouses will ever stand together….for then neither would show their true light to the world. They require space and distance to do their best work. So they spread their light across the land, and across the ocean, steadfast and courageous, guiding, inspiring, never knowing who might be touched by their radiance, always seemingly alone. Yet imagine – what if they could connect with the energy of another lighthouse in a distant place, and their combined power and light create a previously unknown magic to embrace the Earth with force and compassion. While their feet remain firmly planted on their homeground, it is only the space between them that allows the healing light to travel back and forth across expanse and time so that it can be seen and felt by all. Would the Earth itself feel this web of illumination? There must be darkness for the true beauty of light to be appreciated, there must be space for the true nature of love to shine. / ... / .. / . / (Thanks to Kryon for inspiration) PLEASE view larger for best effects…. :-))

  • The pentagram… To the Wiccan, the five points of the pentagram represent Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit. Wiccans usually put the symbol in a circle, which has traditionally represented the endless or eternity. The ancient Chinese believed there were five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water), five planets, five seasons, five senses, as well as five basic colors, sounds and tastes. / -source Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. / The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. / Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, and it also has associations within Freemasonry. The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman word lucifer, which was a term used for Venus as the Morning Star, associated with the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers. When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years. Many Neopagans, especially Wiccans, use the pentagram as a symbol of faith similar to the Christian cross or the Jewish Star of David. / It is not, however, a universal symbol for Neopaganism, and is rarely used by Reconstructionists. / Its religious symbolism is commonly explained by reference to the neo-Pythagorean understanding that the five vertices of the pentagram represent the four elements with the addition of Spirit as the uppermost point. / As a representation of the elements, the pentagram is involved in the Wiccan practice of summoning the elemental spirits of the four directions at the beginning of a ritual. The outer circle of the circumscribed pentagram is sometimes interpreted as binding the elements together or bringing them into harmony with each other. The Neopagan pentagram is generally displayed with one point up, partly because of the “inverted” goat’s head pentagram’s association with Satanism; however, within traditional forms of Wicca a pentagram with two points up is associated with the Second Degree Initiation and in this context has no relation to Satanism. Because of a perceived association with Satanism and also because of negative societal attitudes towards Neopagan religions and the “occult”, many United States schools have sought to prevent students from displaying the pentagram on clothing or jewelry. In public schools, such actions by administrators have been determined to be in violation of students’ First Amendment right to free exercise of religion. / -from wikipedia also available / the verse powers / “ thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /

  • Trippy Flower Power Work Details (for DAC group) / - the big daisy flower photograph sourced from publicdomainpictures.net / - bubble brushes courtesy of brusheezy.com / - astral brushes sourced from brusheezy.com / - remainder of images from my personal collection I dont often describe the process involved, so hope this helps! / I cleaned up all images of the flowers, deleted backgrounds, smoothed edges… / The bubbles were strategically placed :) in a new layer / The flowers then arranged within the bubbles / (always work with seperate layers) / Colour overlays added to the flower layer…. / New layer underneath, added background effects using abstract and astral brushets, resizing, finding the right spot…all that jazz :) / Another new layer… paint it black… put it to the back of the pile / Another layer… signature… strategically place it in an a fitting place / Now pick a random layer… sign it somewhere unobtrusive… but somewhere that will mar the overall image if ever attempted to be removed by another party… / Go back to the flower layer / burn and dodge are great friends when used with the same logic as an eraser and pencil / using this logic, shade the flowers… add the light… / This resulted in ‘pic one’ . / This was then repeated four times with different composition and colours. / Then I merged all four pics onto the one, moved them around to where i wanted them. / Then save it in layers! just in case :) / flatten it / and with that great little smudge tool, fix up the background effects so the whole image is linked/overlapping.. / Then save! / That was the process involved in creating this piece :) / (all done in photoshop CS3) Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

  • OUM
    by amulya

“Aum” is known for centuries as the first and the ultimate symbol of the universe. I created this graphic image to reflect what I feel about ‘Oum’... which in words: space, power, energy, radiation, wishdom and the endlessness.

Shread of our memories are lying on your grass; / Wounded words of laughter are graveyards of the past. / Photographs are grey and torn, scattered in your fields / Letters of your mem’ries are not real. • Inspired by drjones, and Fever Ray’s song When I grow Up and the Lost in Space group / and to my son Brandon who pictured the infant long before he knew the name = ) The various inspirations for this picture morphed into my interest in bringing a little fantasy together with reality, genetically, biochemically… / more simply stated : / a radically atlered view into the last stage of cell division. When I was in my biology class, my mind used to wander, and instead of focusing on things on the screen before me as they were, my mind weaved mystical beings and possibilities around them…it was the only way I could try to memorize some of the stuff.

  • featured in A Fractal Energy Passion 10-02-2009 / featured in A Fractal Energy Passion 09-25-2009 / featured in Digital Artists United 09-24-2009 / MUSIC No one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed we were being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets and yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this Earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely, they drew their plans against us. At midnight on the twelfth of August, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Earth. Across two hundred million miles of void, invisibly hurtling towards us, came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth. As I watched, there was another jet of gas. It was another missile, starting on its way. And that’s how it was for the next ten nights. A flare, spurting out from Mars – bright green, drawing a green mist behind it – a beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight. Ogilvy, the astronomer, assured me we were in no danger. He was convinced there could be no living thing on that remote, forbidding planet. ‘The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one,’ he said. ‘The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one – but still they come!’ Then came the night the first missile approached Earth. It was thought to be an ordinary falling star, but next day there was a huge crater in the middle of the Common, and Ogilvy came to examine what lay there: a cylinder, thirty yards across, glowing hot… and with faint sounds of movement coming from within. Suddenly the top began moving, rotating, unscrewing, and Ogilvy feared there was a man inside, trying to escape. he rushed to the cylinder, but the intense heat stopped him before he could burn himself on the metal. ‘The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one,’ he said. ‘The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one – but they still come!’ ‘Yes, the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one,’ he said. ‘The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one – but they still come!’ It seems totally incredible to me now that everyone spent that evening as though it were just like any other. From the railway station came the sound of shunting trains, ringing and rumbling, softened almost into melody by the distance. It all seemed so safe and tranquil. / / created with Apophysis & Incendia
