An IR shot…...surprise, surprise.. / / Without the wonders of an ir filter this was just an ordinary paddock…green grass, a lone tree and a flowing river.
Gone for something a tad darker…still infrared and still with the reflection. / / /
Found this magnificent tree today and had to take it’s picture….....yes….in infrared..lol / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Do you want to stop? Captured with a Canon 5D and 85mm 1.8 USM prime lens. / No digital manipulations, no tricks. / I took this shot on a vulcanic mountain on the beautiful island of La Palma. / There was a road going almost all the way up to the highest mountain since there are three world-class telescopes in the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma (the scientists have to drive up there easily). Since it’s one of the steepest islands of the world you get these amazing views. I took this shot around 2400m above sea level. When I saw the stop sign it caught my interest immediately.

I’ve been playing with this shot for way too long. I’ve done about 8 versions and can’t decide which one, if any, I like best. This is the one I’m posting…any feedback would be great – you know how it is when you overwork something – can’t see the good bits through all of the annoying bits. / / / Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 / Location: Tumut in the Land of Oz / / ISO200 / f/8 / 4.0sec exposure / R72 filter / Tripod / / POSTSCRIPT / / After reading everyones comments, I’m changing my opinion of this pic now. I’ve looked at the other 7 versions and this one is definately the best, actually by a long way so I’m glad I persisted with it…I think I’m happy with it now….and besides my limited photoshopping skills have run out – I wouldn’t know what else to do with it anyway….lol
I took this shot from the Windsor turf farms today while following a storm which hit about 5 minutes later.. It is an HDR shot and I think HDR was the right choice as it shows details in both the sky and landscape.. / I have always wanted to try and get a storm shot while down at the turf farms because the scene just looks so typically australian to me.. / I decided to include the gate to break up the scene a bit and add something more to view than just turf and the sky.. / Anyway as usual all comments and/or thoughts are welcome.. / Thanks for having a look! “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.
Dawn on Lake Michigan on the north side of Chicago.
Sunrise on the Chicago skyline with Lake Michigan aglow. The 3 block rocks were covered with a coating of ice and along with the posts reminded me of Stonehenge. Worked in Layers by placing two widely different exposed images on top of each other and removing parts of one image to leave the deep colors of the sky and keep the highlighted icy block rocks. This done using Adobe Photoshop CS3.

figurative pastel by Maria Paterson, 1m x 70cm / pastel on colourfix paper FEATURED IN CONTEMPORARY PASTELS / FEATURED IN IMPRESSIONIST ART The circus as a subject has provided me opportunities to explore the human condition. By studying the gestures and theatre of the human performance, I have discovered many symbolic references. In this work “little bee” , the element of trust, striving to reach out, bravery, and the freedom to try, come to the surface, perhaps the changing face of families.
