Gem and Twinkie think they are siblings. After a very long (and very hyper) play time they decided to be kind and pose for me. We were being lazy on the couch in my bedroom and it was one of those moments that I glanced over and saw this and ran for the camera. Such sweet babies. :o) / Twinkie is our Kitty that my son rescued from his ex-wife. (who wanted him to destroy him) :( / Nikon D40. 55-200mm Nikkor lens Does anyone have suggestions on how I can avoid the evil eye (lol) that the flash causes in pets or animals? / Thanks CJ for helping me resolve this issue!!

This year the meeting of the rulers of the worlds of the Amalgamated Galaxies takes place in the city of Setpoint on Andross Minor in the Primm Nebula. Security is top level, in fact all citizens have been told to stay inside while the delegates arrive. I am one of the lucky few journalist/photographers to get a pass. In this photo we view the arrival of the Stillarian Emperor in his Vixen Class Star-Rover “Freedom”. All ships have an escort supplied by the host planet. This Eastern Spinebill Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris gave me the impression he was quite shy when I was trying to get a picture of him ‘attacking’ some grevilleas HERE , and then he decided being photographed wasnt all that bad! This image was captured in our backyard near Tathra on the NSW Far South Coast with a Canon EOS1000D with a 150-500 @ 500 handheld. Steve is the Principal Ecologist at EnviroKey, a specialist ecological consultancy that undertakes surveys, research and education programs across Australia.

Pastels, charcoal, feathers, Photoshop on canvas textured paper / My song…. The Show (lenka) / This is where I began with my paintings .. 8 years ago, this is how they used to look … with a little enhancement in photoshop to add some little extras for fun. I hope you like it. To show where I’ve come from, just doing ‘dots’ and ‘strokes’ and ‘criss-crosses’ for eyes, to the eyes I’m doing today. My story – well…one day, a lady purchased a painting from me called Seashore Sally but she only had ‘dots’ for eyes and no other features, no nose, no lips (I didn’t know how to paint or draw them). The lady got in touch with her sister, a mutual friend, and asked through her, if i would try to add real eyes and a face. I was very anxious and nervous about doing a face over the top, as the lady had paid for the painting, but i agreed to try… this is when i began to progress and learn to draw eyes, noses and lips…and i’m still working hard on getting that right and improving .. i still struggle with lips and noses and eyes, but each time I am rewarded as I learn something new and keep on developing my style / i generally progressed from this, and prior to that, i drew some still lifes, such as a ceiling fan, a cluster of frangipanis and a few portraits of say John Lennon, and some ethnic families from National Geographic, so i began practicing and honing my skills using real subjects, prior to developing a style of my own, it was important to know i could draw first, and really draw accurately. from that to this /
