The original artwork is done in acrylic on stretched canvas. This was painted on a cold windy winter night a few years ago, and I wanted to paint something that will warm me up. What better way than a nice cosy blanket with swirls and colours! Enjoy!

This is the second time I have written this…think my first file was too big…anyway…this is a picture of my beautiful daughter Lauren. Lauren has had a hard life having been disabled in a car accident as a child but despite this she has achieved much including being a fashion model. Her face appeared in mags during the 90’s and culminated with her being the face of the Australian Couture Collection in the late 90’s. This particular photo was taken on a cold wintry day…the raindrops added to the mood of the photo…Lauren is today a writer, hoping to get a book of poetry published. comments welcome…Cheers, Geri

After a 14 hour flight and a 50min walk through 0º freezing cold… we ended up at Lord’s cricket ground for an hour tour – somehow I thnk Siena wasn’t sure what the hell the tour guide was talking about, as both perplexion, boredom and cold set in.

Original Creation Date: December 30th, 2006 The Snow Maiden, or Snegurochka, is an old Russian fairytale of an elderly couple that had the dream of having a daughter. One day, after a fresh snowfall, the couple fashioned a girl out of the snow and she magically came to life. But as the seasons changed from winter to spring, the Snow Maiden became increasingly sad. When summer came, the girl was in a deep depression. One day, while wandering the woods, the Snow Maiden came upon a group of girls. She began to hike with them until after dark, when the woods became colder and the girls built a camp fire to warm themselves by. Watching the girls jump over the camp fire one at a time, the Snow Maiden lept across the fire as well, but before she reached the other side of the fire she disappeared into little more than a watery mist. I finally got inspired to finish her. I made her a lot bigger than the others in the series, so that should appease her for me taking so long on her. / She is the Spirit of the North Wind. It is the wind of Winter and of death, but also of rebirth. She gives us the wisdom to overcome death and to know it is not the end. We must walk through the Northern gate at the end of this life and she will be the one to usher us through. Listen to cold Winter wind, and let her help you release your fears into the darkness of the night. Also from the Series

I used Jessica’s self portrait Ice Queen as a reference. / When I saw Jessica’s portrait I thought of the White Witch in Narnia.
