Being an artist allows me to experiment in different styles. From abstract to impressionistic, from rennaissance to realistic, from naive to contemporary….. But it is impossible to completely hide my recognisable style when the artwork is finished. You will find it in the eyes of people & animals, and the bright colours I so love. I have found though that my style changes with each commissioned painting I do. I tend to stay with the style of the last painting I painted until I do another commissioned painting. In this calender I chose a variety of styles I’ve done so far. You decide which style is your favourite!

I decided to see how the calendar thing works and if any one would even want one of mine! I hope you like it..I tried to make the pictures fit the month for the most part… If you are interested in my calendar but would like a different picture in different month just let me know and I’ll change it! In 1984, a group of Leeds jazz enthusiasts, frustrated by the lack of world class musicians that played in the city decided to form their own jazz promotions co-operative. Leeds Jazz was born. From then until the early nineties I made a photographic record of almost every gig that we put on. I shot it all on black and white film in available light mainly with a 90mm lens on a Contax SLR body. After many weekends spent in the darkroom my enthusism waned, but with the advent of the digital age I have started to take photos again. All the shots on this calendar are from 1984 to the early nineties.

This calendar is a collection of black and white images that I created in the year 2009 for the year 2010. When laying this work out I enjoyed seeing common muses in my collection, one being that amount of “pairs,” that I photographed as well as an attention to focus on images where subject were turning inward. Neither of these similarities were intentional as a grouping and I think this is a good representation of where my eye and my work were going for one solid year. ENJOY. This is my first calendar.
