My thanks to Jerame for featuring three of my images in the Out of the Past Group! I was rather shocked when I realized all 3 images were featured! Thank you so much for this honor 3 times over! The images are: “Vintage Glamour a pastel painting of my daughter; “Elite” a photo of my daughter in her wedding gown; and “Idle” a photo of my daugher dressed in vintage style. I am very blessed to have a beautiful daughter who gives freely of her time to pose for me! Thank you Jessica :-) and a big thank you once again to Jerame who is an amazing photographer. Truly an honor! / Jean

Paper Dolls – vintage pinup photos taken after May 1st / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/australian-portraits/challenges Open for entries. Voting will start for this challenge in 9 days. / The Challenge Last week the ABC featured a documentary called Paper Dolls which featured Australian female portraits in the style of pinup girls. For this challenge you are to photograph a woman over the age of 18 in classic pinup style. The portraits should have an Australian flavour, featuring something to represent Australian culture or products. Eg. Australian car, flag, landscape, product, recreational activity, etc. Something that makes it obvious that it is an Australian Pinup and not something taken in another country. “Pinups came in different forms: girls in bathers, dancing girls, drawings of glamorous, idealized womanhood and soft focus girls gazing longingly out of their frame.” (Source: Paper Dolls: Australian Pinups of WW2 ) Any images added to this challenge which were created prior to May 1st will be removed from this challenge. Portraits must be tasteful and clothing is required. I have finished moving in to my new place in Downtown Denver. Loving every turn. I was riding my bike yesterday and it felt great to bob and weave through the metropolis. / Recently looking through some urban photographs online I have encountered a new motivator. Though the shots may be hard to come by. It the age and weather of an individual that gives him that visual character. The skin the says on its own “i have seen things others have not”. This is what i am looking for. As for most of us, it will be realized at the moment. Never know what you have found or are looking for, until is right in front of you. Smiles all around.
