This was originally an assignment I did for a photography class. We were to find new ways of interpreting a person without their face being featured, but the subject needed to be included within the picture so I avoided using the collecting of objects, memorabilia, etc. that could express their personality – this was to be a portrait challenge using the featured subject in the shot but without featuring their face. This was a really fun assignment. I had a lot of fun trying to think of ways to do a portrait without the face being the focus. I wasn’t sure about how others might find it, but I liked it so I just followed my gut and went with it in spite of any hesitencies. It was surprisingly well received. I decided I’d go ahead and share it here, too. I appreciate any constructive critiques or comments anyone has to offer, as well. I’m still uncertain of exactly what it is that makes it work, but it was well recieved for the class so I decided to share it here, as well.
How far is it possible to push the human mind, could this be possible in the near future and if it was, would this be the only power we could be capable of? This is the second image of a series of 3 images Once again the rocks haven’t been photoshoped in, they are actually there, but just a little photoshop has been used to create this effect… :)
Last summer I visited a small village in Turkey’s Taurus Mountains, about an hour from Konya, because I had a friend there who was getting married. On the first of the three days set aside for the wedding, this woman (the groom’s aunt, I believe) was preparing boiled chicken and rice in three huge iron pots. A professional chef from the city had been hired to prepare the meal for the following day, when a few hundred guests would attend from Konya and surrounding villages. On this day, with only friends and family present, the relatives handled refreshments.

Causal portraits of friends, Taken on Polaroid 665 neg/print film. These R the original fotos with all their scratches & blemishes included when scanned. Only digital alteration is the addition of sepia to tone the fotos. Which no doubt I would have done so had I ever got around 2 printing these negs on paper. Well, that´s another story.
Working on studio and need critique of lighting and posing. / Thanks so much.
Another headshot session. I worked on bringing out the blue tones because her eyes were so blue in the pictures.
