Couldn’t believe my luck… a container ship AND a yacht at the same time… The White Lighthouse at Queenscliff is the lower light of the two lighthouses at Queenscliff, and along with two steel towers guides ships through the Rip and into Port Phillip Bay.
I shot this just this morning along an eastern beach of Port Philip Bay, Victoria. It was a mild morning, and despite my fears of an overcast bland sky, the clouds unpredictably opened up and displayed a wonderful array of shapes and layers. Although I enjoy this photo in colour, it doesn’t really share the same quality and impact that the monotone version displays. This was my first photo shoot for 3 months, and will be part of a small series I will be exhibiting at the end of the year.
This attractive sailing-vessel-like structure is a relic from Expo 86 in Vancouver, Canada. The city transformed an old cargo pier into a showcase intended to rival the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. / Today it is home to a cruise ship terminal, a convention center and a hotel. Shot with a classic Russian Lomo LC-A camera. / / / / Framed Print /

THE SUBJECT: / While it is unusual, exotic and in its own way beautiful, this Passiflora subpeltata (White Passion Flower) is a feral escapee from the garden and is causing havoc among Australia’s native species. It seems a quirk of Nature that things so beautiful can cause such damage outside their natural environment. THE LOCATION: / The shot was made alongside a track in the southern fringe of Sea Acres Nature Reserve , Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia. THE MAKING of ‘Passiflora subpeltata (White Passion Flower)’: / Fuji S9600: Macro Mode, f/8 @ 1/240sec, Auto Focus, ISO80, Hand held and just a dusting of diffused, low powered pop-up flash. / Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3 Visit the Garden Flowers collection in my BubbleSite Gallery for more garden floral delights. While juggling my camera and an umbrella in very strong winds, I managed to shoot this at sunset last night. The waves were absolutely bashing the jetty, lifting the boards right up as the waves forced themselves underneath. The timbers were moving so much from the wind and waves I was sure it was going to finally fall to the elements.
My image of the anoles was a bit drab, they were on the side of the house. So I had to give them a bit more ambiance for their loving “embrace” !! Compilation of 3 images and multiple layers and opacities, textures and effect filters including Redfield fracatalius. / / 7/6/09 – DA /
