100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia Photo of a Squatter Pigeon taken in Porcupine Gorge National Park, central west Queensland The Squatter Pigeon is official listed as Vulnerable in the Australian Government list of threatened species. The main threats to this bird are loss of habitat and excessive predation by the introduced predators, namely cats and foxes. It has been suggested that drought and bushfires may also be exacerbating the impacts of other threatening processes.

A comical Porcupine Fish
Denali Nat’l Park, Ak We noticed a car parked along the side of the road as we drove in a few miles from the entrance. I got out and started taking pictures, that is, until he turned his back towards me. Afraid he might have started to feel threatened I quickly left the scene! / I couldn’t get over how much his face reminded me of a guinea pig. This was taken at night around 11: pm….loved the long daylight hours! © Dyle Warren 2009
We found this little guy on Christmas Eve, west of Choteau, Montana. A ground blizzard was on, and he was facing into the wind, to keep the snow from packing tight to his quills, when we came along. Of course I had to attempt to get a photo of him, so he turned his side to the wind trying to escape my camera. I took a few photos of him, then we moved on. It was 40 below zero wind chill, my fingers were frozen to the camera in a short time. But the picture was worth it.
This picture makes it look really goofy.

This little guy caught my attention near in Ptarmigan Valley, Alaska. One of that year’s babies… and still so fresh looking that I will admit, I wanted to pet him. Good thing I didn’t try!
Taken in a potato field, this porcupine was living in a culvert. Taken by Randolph, Utah. Not a captive animal

Don’t know who was more surprised…this porcupine or me! I have been after this little guy for a week now, yet he waddles so quickly, all I have captured was one big blur of his behind in the past! Tonight on my way home though, I stopped to photograph the deer on the hill behind him, never noticing him sitting there staring at me! Could have been a “sticky situation”! I backed up, and he remained just long enough for one photograph with that look of surprise! /
Featured in “All That is Nature” group. Caught this little fellow on a hike in Narvino Nature area in Wisconsin. Normally a nocturnal animal for some reason was out walking during the day.
