  • This old FRAMO built until 1957 in Hainichen and Frankenberg, Germany and was one of the sights on a phototour I took with some other photographers from my photoclub. Taken in Steinfurt, Germany.

  • Taken during Art in All of Us (www.artinallofus.org) activities last month in the island of St Kitts. The AiA Awareness Program (http://www.artinallofus.org/about-us/programs.html) introduces multicultural exchanges and knowledge during visits into schools by introducing photographic and other interactive cultural activities. One child wanted to express the idea of being made out of sand and being happy with it. He made the composition…. I just pressed the button ;-) Inspire children is part of our mission, giving them a voice is our duty… All proceeds from sales of pictures will go to the child art education project of Art in All of Us (WWW.ARTINALLOFUS.ORG) /

  • A young Ecuadorian girl is carrying her baby brother on her back. Such a sight is not uncommon in South America, where kids as young as six or seven attend to their younger siblings needs while the parents work. / This is a scan from a 35mm slide. 1st place: October Avatat Challenge hosted by the Good News Group – Sharing & Caring / Top ten: Photographing Children challenge Featured: Happy Haven Photography group August 2009 / Featured: Photography 101 Group, February 2009 / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—--

  • While my scanner is on the blink I’ve been going through some of my photos taken while in Shanghai, China in 2006 and found a few with potential. I don’t think I’ll upload too many as photography isn’t one of my strong points, but it is fun to see what you can do with an image and photoshop. This one was taken on the poorer streets of Shanghai, all those bikes just caught my eye!

  • *model/ concept: Art laugh because it’s funny, and cry because it’s so pitifully true, guys… the fact remains that even if you’re a talented design/ art/ photography student, the size of your income may not always be quite so proportionate to the size of your skill. (of course, if you throw in a heavy dose of prayer and ambition, THEN the equation changes…) special thanks to Art for coming up with the idea for this photo, and just being ballsy enough to do this at a freeway exit, where I’m sure drivers were more than a little weirded out by what they saw oh, and by the way… do you guys remember the good ol’ days when we thought $2.87 for a gallon of gas was expensive? we were young, naive and innocent then… fun fact: this photo is nearly two years old! I took this back in late 2006 when I didn’t even have my dSLR yet! I normally don’t go back that far when searching for past photos that are worthy of being tweaked in the lab, but this one was special :)

  • With Earth as the leader, the planets of the Solar System have turned against poor Pluto excluding him from their group of planets. He is now demoted to a dwarf planet. This contemporary themed image is build upon events in which Pluto was degraded and reclassified to a dwarf planet. It is now no longer part of the classic line of planets in our Solar System as I’ve been used to. It’s strange when you’ve been able to memorize the planets ever since you were a kid and for the future will have to leave this little icy rock out. I liked doing a smaller and less extensive project for a change. I had this simple idea, and worked on/off for about a week before completing this. I had great fun stuffing as many little funny details into the image as I could, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it! Visit MathiasPedersen.com to see more of my artwork.

  • 2009. B/W film, as is. A man, who had been searching garbage bins along a street in a commercial center, approached another man who was trying to find something of value in a bin. The first man took a clean bran-new cigarette from his pocket and gave it to the other man. The neat white cigarette almost shone in the darkness. The second man, looking at it, “Where did you find it?” He asked with surprise. “Someone gave it to me.” The man said. He left quickly, probably heading to another bin. The proceeds from this item will be donated to Farestart.

  • These refugee’s were traveling to Chad via Niger and stopped near our rig site to make repairs to their truck. After giving them water food and milk for the women, babies and children, they were gracious enough to let me take some shots. They still had 1000km to travel at this point…......Life is sometimes very cruel! Unfortunately i could not get any shots of the women and children as they were safely nestled up on top. / Shot in the Sahara desert, Libya. / Nikon D300, 24 – 120mm at 24mm, f18, 1/400, ISO 200. / / / / . /

  • On a geography assignment in an informal settlement, I stumbled upon these children. The photojournalist in me inspired me to take this shot. What I love most about this is their varied and contrasting expressions.

  • For most of us this is as close as we’re likely to get to having a real Leica M9 hanging around our necks. The ‘actual size’ camera image has straps and is placed on the T shirt to give the impression that it is a real camera being worn. For those who do have a Leica it will appear as if you are wearing two cameras. Either way it’s a funky shirt!

RedBubble is a great place to find art, design, photos and writing from over 80,000 talented people.
