This small rock pool is found in Cabbage Tree Bay, along the pathway between Manly and Shelly Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches. The sculpture/statue is known as The Oceanids. This image was a 30 second exposure nearly an hour before sunrise with the pool wall and sculpture lit up by a nearby street light. This image has also won a photo of the week at photographer Steve Parish’s Photograph Australia website.
2.5 hrs north-east of Rome, is Umbria a lesser known region adjacent to Tuscany. View from villa looking across the pool to the distant hills. Too picturesque for words and hope this image translates the beauty.
This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.
This is the Original photo I took and manipulated to make Dream Pool
Enjoy!

Mussel Pool is part of the Bennett Brook, which originates from a superficial ground water aquifer. It is home to a wide variety of species, such as tortoises, gilgie, western minow and these magical melaleucas. Another in my Crape Myrtle series. Macro photo of bark of the tree – the bark peels and reveals extrordinary colors. These grow in abundance where I live and no two are the same. I rotated this 90 degrees to provide this ‘landscape’ picture of rock pools on a rocky sea shore. Shot with Nikon D80 on tripod, f/13, 1/10 sec, 105mm ISO 640.
Part of the Arizona Canyon series, this shot was taken at a slightly different angle; attempting to frame those lovely colors in the reflection. The stream slows here, making it so wonderfully calm and serene. / /
A backlit waterfall in the very scenic Emerald Pools area of Zion National Park in Utah, This image was captured while hiking in April of 2008 and a park ranger informed me that the falls were flowing as heavily as he had seen in many years. This is surely an area in Zion not be missed, especially in early spring. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. You may not use any images in any way without written consent from artist. Night time shot, taken in the backwaters of the River Murray, near Lyrup in the Riverland area of South Australia. Beautiful still night with mirror image reflections of the majestic dead river gums. BEST Viewed large. Canon 400D 18-55 lens. Processed in Photoshop CS3.
Late afternoon, Lyrup flats between Renmark and Berri in the Riverland of South Australia. Afternoon shots whilst waiting for the sun to go down for a night time shoot. The clouds moved apart and left this diamond like section reflecting nicely on the still backwaters. Again a visit to one of my favourite places where these huge River gums stand defiant against nature, dead but not finished….... Canon 400D 18-55 lens, CIR Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitch in CS3 and converted to B&W in the same program.
