  • Childrens pool at Newcastle Beach / Newcastle NSW Australia

  • This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.

  • Enjoy!

  • Newcastle Beach / NSW Australia

  • A small pool reflects the color of the setting sun as the nearly still waters of the Potholes Reservoir shows the color of sky above as well.

  • It’s gone from light to gray / But I’ll move those clouds away / Letting the sun shine through / In this ode to you / Let the demons have their place / If so it’s angels you’ll create / And disguised within the dark / Light will wait / My heart I owe you my soul Dredg – Ode to the Sun

  • Orange coloured clouds reflected in a rock pool and on the wet sand at Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland. The blocks are part of coastal defences errected during the second World War. Many similar constructions are still visible in this part of the world. Nikon D80

  • I got really wet for this one. I really should wait for warmer weather to do these sort of shots!

  • Sunset at Blairgowrie ocean beach, Australia.

  • JUST LOVE THE CRISP SILHOUETTE HERE IN SEPIA JUST AS THE SUN IS SETTING

  • Sunset at Merewether Baths. The pool was empty and I managed to get a few shots from inside it before I was told to get out.

  • Late afternoon, Lyrup flats between Renmark and Berri in the Riverland of South Australia. Afternoon shots whilst waiting for the sun to go down for a night time shoot. The clouds moved apart and left this diamond like section reflecting nicely on the still backwaters. Again a visit to one of my favourite places where these huge River gums stand defiant against nature, dead but not finished….... Canon 400D 18-55 lens, CIR Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitch in CS3 and converted to B&W in the same program.

  • One of my favourite spots. Camera: Canon 5DMKII / Lens: Canon 17-40 f4.0L / Focal Length: 17mm / Aperture: f22 / Shutter Speed: 1 second / ISO: 50 / Filter: 3 stop ND Grad / Post Processing:Lightroom – levels, saturation, dust removal

  • Another from the telly’s trip to Newcastle Baths.

  • Love the low tide in this area, the beautiful green moss/weed gets exposed, and these little pools have so much life in them, trapped till the next tide. Noosa headland, in the Noost National Park, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm, 5pm.. Available Large, and best viewed LARGE!

  • canon 5d mk ii 16-35 mm lens

  • Last one from today’s visit to Currumbin Alley. Quite lucky today, while lining up a shot similar to this I was swamped by a wave hitting the rocks behind me. Lucky that I had taken my cut-off rain-coat sleeve with me today after hearing about Mel Brackstone’s experience. If not for this reminder, my camera would have been water-logged. It’s a pain to use as you can’t really see your dials, wireless remote still works though – might make a couple of adjustments before the Summer storms come rolling in.

  • Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain. Rota has diverse flora and fauna.. / Wikipedia ©2009/2010 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • Looking across the Alley towards the distant headland of Burleigh Heads at sunset. I was unsure of the crop so I found a portrait one to play with.

  • Sunset at the pool. / Palau Pacific Resort, Koror, Palau, Micronesia, Pacific. Canon EOS 50-E, 17-40mm, 1/125s, f 8, ISO 100 (no filter!) http://www.norbertprobst.com

  • A very shallow tidal lagoon…and everything seems to reflect. The mangrove even if just tiny was so beautiful to watch. The aerial roots were arranged like a star around the tiny mangrove shrub. Thanks to my mate Glen for the modeling with his hat. I look forward to a return visit to that Mangrove in a few years time
