Like waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory….40s era Fords, Oldsmobile’s, Pontiac’s, Chevy’s….awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod. Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado….and now it is just a memory….it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could…preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this….time stands still…...much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron….... One of those old American ambulances, here in the UK at the Haynes Museum, Somerset. I decided to sepia tone the background to give it an aged feel… and to make the red of the ambulance zing!

This is a shot of a hood ornament of a 40’s vintage Pontiac automobile. I was attending a show at the Gilmore Car Musuem located near Battle Creek, Michigan. I took this shot with a long lens so that I could compress depth and ensure that the background would be completely out of focus. I wanted the attention to be on the hood ornament itself with the background just being more abstract.

Lovely ‘59 Potiac Catalina, AAC Summer Nationals ‘08. My favourite of the day, there for judging so with hood and trunk left open sadly this was my nicest shot of it. Guy also had an almost mint original Falcon there as well-and three others at home!
