Pont du Gard is a Roman aqueduct crossing the river Gardon near Nimes (south of France). Built by Roman engineers throughout the 1st century AD this system brought in water to the Roman town of Nemausus (Nîmes) via an impressive aqueduct system of 50 km from springs at the Fountaine d’Eure in Uzès

The famous Ponte Vechio Bridge in Florence Italy
Lucky enough to visit last year and capture my personal view. Fascinating to visit and I wanted to take my own memorable photo. Unfortunately it was the middle of a hot sunny day so I took the standard tourist shots but spotted a view that I though would look good in the right conditions. Fortunately while wandering around, watching the weather, I spotted a break and ran and took this – I had about 2 minutes to get the shot and was happy.
A brief moment on the Tiber River, birthplace of the Roman Civilization. This photo shows Roma under a blanket of clouds with rays of light reflecting in the river. A moment, albeit a simple one, in the eternal city.
Go on sing it – you know you are humming it!
King Penguins hanging out at Salisbury Plane on South Georgia . / / This is one amazing island that you all must try to get to, if you don’t mind four days in rough seas on a boat that is!!! But it is truly worth it…. / / This image was taken at a place called “Salisbury Plain”, where there are approximately 250 000 penguins! The sound as you come over the hill is tremendous, not to mention the smell!! / / Salisbury Plane – South Georgia
The mask I bought from Flavia (www.veniceatelier.com) – I also bought the dress there, shown on another picture.

Ponte Del Scudi II featured in Bridges Group 2008. For the longest time I dreamed of a wild adventure in Italy. In April 2008 that dream became an extraordinary reality. After arriving in Venice and ditching the mask making course we decided to book in for a photography tour. Once our photographer ‘Ava’ warmed up, she was a delightful companion, taking us on a leisurely stroll through the maze of smaller canals while patiently explaining the rich tapestry of Venetian history. The colours seemed brighter in the early morning light and the intermittent rain added a sparkle to the colourful landscape. With cold toes and dancing feet, it was hard to juggle my camera and umbrella. Still, every moment was magical and every photo a delightful reminder of our wonderful adventure. Ponte Del Scudi roughly translates to Bridges of the shield. and if you look closely, the windows do remind us of colourful shields protecting the inhabitants from the cold wind and rain that blew that day. This is the second in a series of photos that I took of this small bridge in Venice. (c)sooz2008
Even if there are clouds in your life and your shoulders are stooped with care … look up! There is most likely a harbinger of happiness nearby – especially in Paris! “The Bird of Good Cheer – Pont Neuf, Paris ” was featured in the group European Everyday Life .
Shot with Canon T90; Kodak Film ISO 400 :c) / I placed the camera on the ground and had it on slow shutter speed. We pretended to have some breatcrumbs and waited for the pigeons to gather around us. Once they were there, my friend clapped loudly so they would sore. I pressed the shutter, right into the pigeons. / I hadn’t completely focused on the buildings, more on the pigeons in the foreground, meaning, the buildings aren’t tack sharp – in the beginning, this picture was more an accident, but now I actually think it works better that way as it adds to the seemingly chaotic motion of the birds :)
See also my other picture. This one was the second try of capture that fabulous sunset.
