  I can see for miles

  The view from high on the Tarpon Springs Boulevard (the only real road on the island of Halki, Greece). The closest body of water is Pondamos bay which has the only sandy beach on the Island. Beyond Pondamos (in the centre of the shot) is the Halki cemetery church, Ags. Soulas. On the hill above the church you can see the three ruined windmills that stand guard above the village of Nimborio (the only settlement on th Island). On the left of the shot is Nimborio and its lovely bay. Halki is a small yet very charming island in the Dodecanese that is situated opposite the west coast of Rhodes. The residents of Tarpon Springs, Florida, USA endowed Halki first with money for its stone clock tower, and, more lately, with the money to build the road to the Monastery far up in the mountains – the Boulevard Tarpon Springs, which took about 6 years, being finished in 1995.
