A Small stand of trees near Llandarcy refinery, South Wales, UK. due to become part of Llandarcy Urban Village development. / / Reflection courtesy of PS / / A place where I would in childhood play / Picking the bluebells along the way / Where golden light would dance through trees / A view that could bring me to me knees / / A place full of fun, and playful glee / Where friends would seek, or play hide with me / At morning the dew would glisten like gold / Here where a million stories were told A group of horses would grace these fields / They would send us running fast on our heels / To pick the fresh and succulent grass / To feed and love them, as we pass But alas this place will be no more / Development knocks on this beautiful door / And soon the concrete and metal will shine / On this beautiful place that is wonderfully fine.

Ya, thought the title pretty much summed it up! Captured a couple night ago as the sun was sinking low out at Reunion Lake on the eastern plains of Colorado. The colors were just stunning, I was pretty awe struck, it yielded quite a few really nice shots! Let me know what ya think! / —-John

We took a drive to the other side of the park to see the ducks and geese….poor little guys, they stay here all winter because people feed them all during the warmer months even though there are signs all over saying not to….I wonder if those same people venture out of their warm homes to feed them, when their ponds are frozen and they are hungry. / . / . I had to nab a shot of these shadows at sunset and you can see some of the little guys in the background. / .. / . / . / . / . / . / . / . / . . . / . / . / . / Landscape photography….cheap kodak digital camera…set to landscape and added a small touch of shadow…he he he. Wish I had the fancy stuff but not too bad anyway huh ? (crosses fingers). Maybe after Christmas I’ll get my hands on one and begin to learn what all the talk is.

I didn’t run out of ducks, nope, I just thought Mr. Black Swan looked best in this different ‘view’ of the pond.. ;-) Hope everyone enjoyed this series…

I’m running out of names for these works! This is another photographic artwork created in photoshop CS2. I’d actually spent ages cutting out an intricate tree with a view to creating something around that, but I got so carried away with this piece, I forgot all about it! Next time! Cherry Creek Reservoir State Park, outside Denver, Colorado….it’s pretty amazing the tranquility one can find in nature so early on a summer’s morning….and here I sat…on the shoreline, tripod 1/2 in the water, 4ND and my CPL bolted to my 18-70….watching this whole scene play out.. Yeah, talk about a relaxing moment and just a nice time kicking back and unwinding….this was it! And yes that is a Pelican in the water…”a Pelican in Colorado???” you say? Yes, migratory birds….they come up all the way from South America and spend a few months here…wild huh? Why here where there is no Ocean is beyond me, but they call us home for awhile. I will say this—they are without a doubt the most skiddish of any bird I have ever seen….they didn’t cme within 200 feet of me, and when they saw me driving up in my car, from 500 feet away, they turncoated and made way fast lol Well hope ya all like it, let me know what ya think! —-John

A Morning Stroll At the Lake Every now and then we almost miss a shot, and luckily this time I happened to turn around as I was walking back to my car from shooting the sunrise and had this scene greet me. Captured at Cherry Creek State Park outside of Denver, Colorado, the light seemed to almost dance among the trees. Processed in HDR

This is a photograph that was taken for my class “The Art of Seeing”. The assignment involved a story telling photograph using a wide angle lens, with texture in the foreground. The grass is my texture. In order to get this shot I had to lay flat on the frozen ground right up against the frozen pond. I witnessed a Blue Heron walking across the frozen pond, looking slightly bewildered. No ducks were present and no Nutria. Just the sunset, the frozen ground and me.
