The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. I can still remember my very first camera that my parents had given to me when I was about 8 years old. I took that camera everywhere and snapped shots of anything and everything, however it wasn’t until much later in life that I was really bitten by the photography bug. I was planning a big move to the Canadian Rockies and thought now is the perfect time to buy my new camera gear for shooting wildlife. I bought all the equipment I needed that would put me up close with all the wildlife that the mountains had to offer. So off I went chasing Bears, Bighorn sheep, Moose, Elk and Wolves… pretty much any critter I could capture with my lens. It was a fascinating and thrilling experience. Then fate brought to me a girl and she would change my life forever… Newfoundland is where I now call home, with my beautiful wife and baby son. This province is a photographer’s paradise. The scenes change from day to day and the opportunities for capturing them are endless. With my camera in tow I now begin my journey through Newfoundland, photographing and capturing her raw and rugged beauty to share with the world. I hope you enjoy the photographs presented here. It is a coastline marked with lighthouses that act as ever watching sentinels to welcome weary travellers home. It is a land of beautiful & quaint coastal towns, villages and cities. Newfoundland is a land visited by frozen giants from the North that create a sense of awe when seen by human eyes as they float down what is known as “Iceberg alley”. It is a land visited by massive whales during the summer that attract multitudes to the shorelines. It is a land rich in history and folklore and it is a land inhabited by a people who will welcome you with open arms. It is a land you need to visit… Newfoundland… In Living Color, captures the raw and rugged beauty of a landscape still yet untouched and marred by man’s corrupt hand. This is the second HDR image shot the other day on my girlfriend’s property.. I was inspired to try my hand at an HDR involving a dam after seeing some of the brilliant work here on the Bubble.. I think it turned out well and I liked how the image almost looks as though it is bent if you look at the tree line.. / As always comments are most welcome! Thanks a lot for looking! A Conversation With the Clouds Captured at an elevation of 11,990 ft (3,655 m), standing atop Loveland Pass is like being able to touch heaven and the clouds. When I captured this, the slight hint of the scent of snow was in the air, and conditions up here can change literally by the second. It is right along the Continental Divide, and the views from up here are simply paradise! Processed in HDR and captured on my Minolta 5D using a Minolta 18-200 DT Lens and a Hoya Polarizer http://www.redbubble.com/products/configure/5778657

The day was horrible, persistant rain and heavy showers ( I’ve been told there is a difference ) and blowing a gale. I noticed a break in the clouds on the horizon and took a gamble that it would clear around sunset. I high-tailed it up to the forest and was blessed, for once, with the most amazing lighting I’d ever seen. The New Forest pony was the icing on the cake as far as I was concerned. I used a Canon 20D and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. This was shot in Raw and processed using PS CS2. The processing was: change colour balance / levels / curves / slightly lighten the pony and land with an adjustment layer / sharpen / save This was taken in the New Forest National Park in Southern England.
