A rainstorm the week before our hike left water pooled on the sandstone above the Wave rock in Coyote Buttes Wilderness area. The water was so still that the reflection and reality were hard to separate

The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days. Dreary dull, grey, original digital photograph. / Lots of photoshop layers and borrowed sunset from my bonny Northumberland, Budle Bay photo. Inversion and refining with digital painting….. it would have been easier to conventionally paint this!!
This little bench is perfectly placed under this beautiful red tree. The water surrounds this little bench. It is a place to unwind and relax. We walk/hike here with our dog who loves to chase the birds. This is in Mississauga Ontario

She wears a little lotus on her head, symbolic of her royal status and the lotus symbolises strong and lasting affection. Around her feet are tiny white pebbles …...she is surrounded by water, on a golden pond…you can see her reflection (i used silver cardboard for the backdrop and ground) Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …
