A beautiful art peace of architecture that houses the museum of modern art in Paris, The Pompidou Center contrast sharply with its surroundings making it a sculpture like building that reflects the industrial culture of the 20th century.
When I saw this amazing exhibit in the Pompidou Gallery in Paris, I immediately thought of the movie, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”! This shoe had a room in the gallery all to itself.

“One man show : the Art of Andy Mercer at the Pompidou Centre Paris 2008” One of a series of abstract works based a simple wandering line created for my one man show at the Pompidou in 2008. Wonderful recycled paper courtesy of Soxy Fleming I like the idea that this looks like a one off crafty type of work but all is not as it seems.. the drawing and the recycled paper have only come together in digital form. The “paper” is a scan of Soxy’s wonderfully delicate recycled paper. Which is almost too fragile to draw on.. I like the idea that its paper that isn’t really meant for drawing on and the line drawing was done on standard art paper scanned and then the two were brought together digitally. Is the fake picture.. art.. or is the picture of the fake picture in a fake exhibition.. art ? You must decide ? (DISCLAIMER : This description is probably only 92% accurate.)

Centre Pompidou, Paris, France / Copyright This guy was selling souvenirs when policemen approached and wanted him to pack his stuff and go. Conversation lasted for quite some time but the guy won, he was obviously a tough case and policemen rather walked away and left him there together with his stuff :). From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Centre Georges Pompidou (constructed 1971–1977 and known as the Pompidou Centre in English) is a complex in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris, near Les Halles, rue Montorgueil and the Marais. It was designed in the style of high-tech architecture. It houses the Bibliothèque publique d’information, a vast public library, the Musée National d’Art Moderne which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe, and IRCAM, a centre for music and acoustic research. Because of its location, the Centre is known locally as Beaubourg. It is named after Georges Pompidou, the President of France from 1969 to 1974 who decided its creation, and was officially opened on 31 January 1977 by the then-French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. The Centre Pompidou has had over 150 million visitors since 1977. It was used extensively as the backdrop for the 1986 Electric Light Orchestra video “Calling America”
