  • I Am America
    by Helen Bascom

    I am a buyer / and a seller / I am a giver / and a user

For the first time in American history there will be a Democratic Party Candidate for President who is either a Black male or a White female running against a White male Republican Party Candidate. Never mind the hate speech both Clinton and Obama have sparked by their bid for the nomination. I can now tell my son that this is America where little boys and girls, of any race or religion, can grow up to be President ( I hope). America is a land of diversity and of contradiction. / MCN: B64-RW1A-9461

  • What Good Is War?
    by Casey Herman

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The world seems to be imploding upon itself at times, as military forces seek to destroy humanity. I wish that the leaders who declare war should be forced to lead the armed forces themselves, because it is often their failure to use diplomacy that leads them to use military force. This work depicts how I feel the planet is imploding inwards, the rock showing that we’ll regress if we don’t control our war machinery and madness.

  • I wanted to make a pic of me as the joker but had no pictures of myself at the time, so instead I took a picture of Hillary Clinton and Jokerized her (LOL). All of my friend’s think it would make a great t-shirt so, there ya go!

Jerry Brown, former Governor of California. Brown’s a fascinating jumble of contradictions – brilliant & aloof, born into the glare of politics, he comes and goes, reinvents himself all the time, and has an instinct for finding his key light (and dating rock stars). His old man, who preceded him as governor, was a gladhanding, outgoing, bigger-than-life operator. This picture is as close as Jerry comes to smiling. He’s a taciturn, private person who ran for president of the US, the most public, scrutinized gig in the world – he has that in common with another conflicted Californian – Richard Nixon. The difference is Brown’s heart is in the right place, whereas Nixon didn’t have a pulse. Jerry can give a hell of a speech, but, as my wife can attest from personal experience, Mr. Warmth is not always a scintillating dinner companion. With this image, I wanted a feeling of Brown peering at a bright light as he emerges from a cave (after meditating, hibernating?)...

  • Am I being totally paranoid? Are my drugs starting to kick in, or are they not working? / Have I had too much to drink… Or, maybe, not enough? / Maybe I am going insane… but in who’s eyes? Isolation is said to provoke insanity. / Extreme sensory deprivation is also said to bring insanity to the forefront. / Maybe my paranoid sycophantic insanity brings about these ramblings. / Am I the only one to see that within all levels of leadership, / the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing? / Why is mankind so fixated with the concept of working full-time in main-stream jobs? / Is it a case of “Go Gently into that Good Night”? / I say “NO”. I will fight tooth and nail, right to the bitter end. / Normality will never exist within our multi-cultural society. / We have gangs of different ethnic or religious beliefs / Roaming the streets with machete’s and guns, looking for unprovoked fights. / Maybe someone looked at another person the wrong way… / It seems that any slight, imagined or real, is met with extreme violence. / All men may be created equal, but not when viewed in the eyes of man. / The “Mr. Mums”, the shift workers, the sole-parents… / Are these not worthy occupations to fit into the laws, mores and expectations of our society? / The unemployed, the pensioners, those with a mental illness… / Are they to be cast out from our ranks: deemed unworthy of participation? / Participation in the human race… Participation in life itself… / Shall we bundle them upon the broken-down, leaky Ship Of Fools / and let them set sail from our shores, never to be heard from again? / Much as this may seem like a good idea for (racial) cleansing of the people, / Who will sit in judgement of those in the right and those in the wrong? / Who will sentence these poor, wondering, unexpectant, misaligned fools to a watery grave? I only hope it does not turn out to be a pompous, pretentious, petty prick of a self-serving politician.
