I’ve been busy on commissions but put together a Ms Julia Gillard – a face I’ve not seen caricatured too frequently – in fact I don’t think I’ve seen one, plenty of cartoons. About 5 hours work on Photoshop CS3.

The world seems to be imploding upon itself at times, as political forces seek to destroy humanity. Well, that’s a cool byline. The truth is, I added the photo of a rock in my garden and the F111 over the top of the clouds. Scuse me.

Am I being totally paranoid? Are my drugs starting to kick in, or are they not working? / Have I had too much to drink… Or, maybe, not enough? / Maybe I am going insane… but in who’s eyes? Isolation is said to provoke insanity. / Extreme sensory deprivation is also said to bring insanity to the forefront. / Maybe my paranoid sycophantic insanity brings about these ramblings. / Am I the only one to see that within all levels of leadership, / the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing? / Why is mankind so fixated with the concept of working full-time in main-stream jobs? / Is it a case of “Go Gently into that Good Night”? / I say “NO”. I will fight tooth and nail, right to the bitter end. / Normality will never exist within our multi-cultural society. / We have gangs of different ethnic or religious beliefs / Roaming the streets with machete’s and guns, looking for unprovoked fights. / Maybe someone looked at another person the wrong way… / It seems that any slight, imagined or real, is met with extreme violence. / All men may be created equal, but not when viewed in the eyes of man. / The “Mr. Mums”, the shift workers, the sole-parents… / Are these not worthy occupations to fit into the laws, mores and expectations of our society? / The unemployed, the pensioners, those with a mental illness… / Are they to be cast out from our ranks: deemed unworthy of participation? / Participation in the human race… Participation in life itself… / Shall we bundle them upon the broken-down, leaky Ship Of Fools / and let them set sail from our shores, never to be heard from again? / Much as this may seem like a good idea for (racial) cleansing of the people, / Who will sit in judgement of those in the right and those in the wrong? / Who will sentence these poor, wondering, unexpectant, misaligned fools to a watery grave? I only hope it does not turn out to be a pompous, pretentious, petty prick of a self-serving politician.

This t-shirt pays homage to the great Scottish revolutionary socialist John Maclean (1879 – 1923). The design on the tee features my interpretation of an image from a Russian stamp commemorating the great man. Born in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, the former schoolteacher fought long and hard for the rights of the common man, ending up in prison for his beliefs. He was elected to the chair of the Third All-Russian Congress of Soviets in 1918 when he was made Bolshevik consul in Scotland. He founded the Scottish Workers Republican Party and supported Scottish independence. His health was broken in prison and he died aged 44. Loved by the people, over 20,000 lined the streets at his funeral.

Sean Penn was just great in the movie Milk, based on Harvey Milk. It is truly an amazing film and he did just an amazing job! Update: 2009 OSCAR WINNER for “MILK”!!!! Congrats to him!! These are some of the political ‘con’ words we hear when they need our votes to fulfill their own agenda of been ministers and presidents to drive in land cruisers and live in posh houses. These people who promise to help us , are indirectly the cause of our woes because their political decisions are not what they told the people during the campaign for the land cruisers and bodyguards . They promise us heaven on the campaign platform but deliver to us hell when the mandate to rule and govern is giving to them . Once the power to rule is giving to them they barely visit their constituencies, asked why they are not going there, the only excuse is that he is serving mother Ghana in Accra.”

A year after being ordered to do so, and months after the government expenses wroughts claims saw the resignation of several MPs in England, today thousands of ministerial expense claims were finally revealed to the public. And imagine the surprise when numerous examples released were festooned with whole sections blacked out, ostensibly for ‘security’ reasons, but also conveniently protecting MPs from embarrassment. Gallingly, even dodgey expense claims the public ALREADY KNEW ABOUT were blacked out and illegible. Meaning that had they not been leaked by the press already, all the ones where politicians switched which houses were their primary/secondary one back and forth, or built duck ponds and the like, would not have come to light even with this ‘full disclosure’ Pure and simple : these people are SCUM. They are liars, they are cheats, and they are thieves. I don’t argue that politicians should be held to a higher standard of accountability than the rest of us, but I know that if I tried this kind of shit I’d be in jail. And they are not. They are making the rules that says this behaviour is okay “Governments should be afraid of their people” advises the hero of the novel/film “V For Vendetta”. And this is why. The problem is, of course, that whenever politicians are afraid they don’t behave better – they just increase funding to the police and give greater powers of surveillance in the name of ‘security’. Yay, Democracy. Iran and North Korea should totally get on that train…. (End rant for now – feel free to check out my photography : it’s much less political… it’s things like waterfalls… and swans…)

One of a very few that can be described as an ‘Elder Statesman’. The current crop of M.P.s could and should take a few leaves from his untarnished book and thank him greatly. Now retired but still very active. The current President of the Stop the War Coalition. / A poll by the BBC2 The Daily Politics programme in January 2007 selected Benn as the UK’s "Political hero". He is also a hero to me. Tony Benn It was an honor and a great pleasure to meet and shake hands with the great man today.
