Every year, Catholic parishes in Greater Cincinnati erect a Cemetery of the Innocents, composed of 4,000 wooden crosses to illustrate and commemorate the 4,000 lives ended by abortion daily. / This display is a form of memorial, and also of protest. There have been numerous documented cases of such displays being defaced around the country, and one such attack occurred at the nearby Northern Kentucky University in 2006. / Personally, I found it very interesting that my home parish of St. Mary chose to display their Pro-Life message in the week leading up to the pivotal Obama/McCain election, in which popular opinion around the country seemed to be in favor of Obama, a candidate who had declared a Pro-Choice stance.
