This is the second installament for my Old TImers series It brings to light those who have dedicated decades to their chosen occupation, craft or trade, some by choice others through need. A trait which is rapidly diminishing in todays society where people are in constant flux between jobs, careers and hobbies. / This is a salute to the Old Timers! This is Brett, an industrial metal polisher by trade. He has been at it for decades and is well skilled in the art of making metal shine. A real Larrakin at heart but not someone you’d want to get on the wrong side of. An updated bio to come soon… I hope you enjoy! Cheers!

One of my Fav breeds!!! The Polish Lowland Sheepdog (Polski Owczarek Nizinny, also PON), is a medium sized, shaggy-coated, sheep dog breed native to Poland. / The PON is a muscular, thick-coated dog. The double coat can be of any color or pattern; white, gray, and brown are most common, with black, gray, or brown markings. It is common for colors to fade as the dogs reach adulthood. The undercoat is soft and dense, while the topcoat is rough and either straight or wavy, but not curly. The hair around the head makes the head appear to be larger than it actually is, and typically covers the eyes. / Males are 45 – 50 cm (18 – 20 inches) in height at the withers, while females are 42 – 47 cm (17 – 19 inches). The body is not square, but rectangular; the ratio of the height to the body length should be 9:10 (a 45 cm tall dog should have a body 50 cm long). The tail is either very short or docked. Some undocked dogs have tails that curl over the back. / Polish lowland sheepdogs are stable and self-confident, but are wary of strangers. They have an excellent memory and can be well trained, but may dominate a weak-willed owner. PONs adapt well to various conditions, and are popular as companion dogs for apartment dwellers in their native Poland. PONs require a moderate amount of exercise daily.. well now.. clear polish can’t possibly be sinful so I had to add some sinfulness to it… really…clear being sinful… pathetic…. ;) I love that the brush looks like a figure of a woman in a dress too… Nikon D80 / For the Define Yourself Challenge in The Woman Photographer group I decided to add this one, but hosts can’t win this challenge so it shall be removed. Why did I pick this one? For so many reasons: I am a woman, I am a mom, a wife, an artist, a student. I struggle with each on a daily basis. I have lost my faith and my religion. / HOWEVER I am beautiful, I am strong and have a fire in me that keeps me going and I love life. I feel this image fits me well. Even though I rarely paint my nails lol! =)

The Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich (the Valley of the Five Polish Tarns) occupies the upper level of the Dolina Roztoki valley. It is bounded on the north by a high ridge stretching from Mt Świnica to col Krzyżne and Mt Wołoszyn (2155 m), and on the south by the main ridge of the Tatras and a side ridge of the summit of Mt Miedziane (2233 m). The beauty of this valley is enhanced by a number of lakes, among which one, Wielki Staw, is the biggest and the deepest (79 m) in the Tatras. A stream comming out of Wielki Staw has the biggest waterfall in the Tatras – Siklawa, while another waterfall, Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza, can be seen just beside the road leading to Morskie Oko (Oswald Balzer’s Road). A popular route, following the blue marks, leads from Hala Gąsienicowa and col Zawrat through the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich valley over to Morskie Oko, while yellow trail takes us from Kozia Dolinka, over the col Kozia Przełęcz (2137 m), across the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich, up to the col Przełęcz Szpiglasowa (2114 m) on the other side, over it and down Morskie Oko. / There are two PTTK mountain refuges in Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich: one on Przedni Staw, and the other at the spot where the Dolina Roztoki leads off from The Morskie Oko road. / To get to the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich from the main road one follows the green trail for about 2.30 h along the Dolina Roztoki. The last part of the route has black marks, too. From the Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich the black trail leads to the Kozi Wierch (2291 m – approx. 2.30h), while the yellow trail leads past Krzyżne (2113 m) to the Hala Gąsienicowa (approx. 3.30 h).
