  • I’m not sure about this one so I’d like your feedback, please. / / These steps are located in Darling Harbour, Sydney. They are one of the many water features in the area. / / It was really hard to get a good shot of them…this was the best one that I could come up with. It was a really bright and hot day so I used a polarising filter, an ND4 filter and an ND8 filter to try and get a longer exposure. / / Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 / ISO200 / f/8 / 1/5 sec exposure / On my hands and knees getting strange looks from lots of tourists who were just prepared to stand over them and snap away..lol / / / /

  • Went down to Ricketts Point at sunset and was given a pretty good show shortly after the sun went over the horizon, how can that happen the sun doesn’t move? It got pretty windy and my remote decided to stop working but it was worth the 10 second wait for the self timer :) Taken with a Canon 400D and polariser as well as an ND4 grad filter, worked on in Adobe Lightroom 2. • After arriving at the beach after work I started walking to the point but couldn’t resist taking a snap of this bucket that just happened to be sitting on the shore. There wasn’t even any people around so I wondered how it had got there… Processed in Adobe Lightroom 2 only, experimented with the new adjustment brushes which are coooool! Used Cokin ND4 grad and circular polarising filters, taken with a Canon 400D Click here for my other seascapes Featured in the Selective Colouring Group in January 2009 Featured in the Canon DSLR Group in January 2009 Featured in the All About Water group in January 2009

  • Taken at Rhyll early in the morning when the tide was way out. On the way back from Cowes to Woolamai I thought I might stop by Rhyll as I had never been there before even after all the years we had a house there. I spotted this boat tied up in the mud and couldn’t resist a shot. My shoes sank into the mud real deep and had to give the tripod a good clean. Taken with my Canon 40D with polarising and graduated filters. Featured in the All About Boating group on the 19th of April 2009 One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series

  • Early evening shot at the Port Fairy outflow pipe, Port fairy Victoria. The outflow goes beyond rock outcrops on Griffin Island, out through the cement structures that reach out into the ocean. Long exposure image taken with the Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter topped with an ND4.

  • A drainage pipe leeking at sunset on the Sandringham foreshore. This area is being renourished by Bayside City Council to help stabilise the foreshore cliffs which are being eroded by wave action and stormwater emanating from the car park above. As soon as I took this photo the guys on the constuction equipment came over and started working on it maybe because of the low tide. Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens with Polarising, Grad and ND4 Cokin Filters. Didn’t really have to do anything to the photo apart from remove some spots, I think it’s time for a sensor clean! • A rock alone out by itself on a fairly stormy evening in Melbourne. Taken just near the end of the pier at St Kilda in a window of stormy weather. Elwood can be seen sticking its nose out on the top left of the horizon… These rocks were damn slippery too, stupid me wore my skate shoes as well which didn’t exactly help! / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS. FL: 20mm 30 seconds @ f7.1, ISO 100 ND8 Grad Filter Adobe Lightroom 2 Click here for my other seascapes

  • I saw this beat up old car on my trip to Lake Mungo. Quite an arid area. Especially now, as parts of south eastern Australia are now in drought. At the time in January, there had been so little rain that the normal grass cover had died and revealed the red earth underneath. It’s a very bumpy journey, and almost undrivable in the wet due to the clay soils. Nikon F90x / Fuji Velvia 100 Imacon Flextight 949 scan / (AVAILABLE IN LARGE SIZE CANVAS, PRINTS, ETC )

  • Again another early visit to the river banks at Mannum in South Australia. There is so much talk about the lack of water in the River Murray yet it still flows and there is plenty to do and see along it’s length. Early morning sunrise HDR with wonderful cloud lines floating down the river. If your interested in river photography see my journal entry re an upcoming photography river cruise from mannum in June. Canon 400D 18 -55 with polarising filter. Three shot HDR converted in photomatix. My apologies to all of those who have visited lately. I have been away with work and will shortly start getting back to you all regarding your recent comments and visits.

  • I absolutely love this little spot, and I’m sure this will be the first of many visits to this area. / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS. • Early morning sunrise between Kingston and Millicent in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. With recent heavy rains the paddocks were awash with water reflecting the blues of the early sun. Canon 400D 17-85 lens with CIR polarising filter. Three shot panorama stitched in Photoshop CS4. My apologies to all of my contacts and friends here on RB, I have been away from the site for a few months with heavy work demands and two exhibitions, one with Smarti77 at Coonawarra and now a solo at Millicent. I will attempt to catch up to all of your images as soon as I can. The current exhibition of 45 works “nature” is on display at the Millicent Gallery through until 7th August if any of you manage to get down this way.

  • Taken on the back side of Portsea facing the ocean, near the infamous London Bridge. This was my first visit to the south side but it didn’t look like there were any bridges to me! The swell was huge on this side and the waves made cracking noises as they smashed the shore.. Couldn’t go too long in the exposure as the water level would rise up above the rocks making it disappear from sight! / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS. FL: 35mm 3.2 seconds @ f5, ISO 100 Hoya ND400, Polarising Filter and ND4 Grad Filter Adobe Lightroom 2 Click here for my other images of Portsea Click here for my other seascapes

  • A lone tree on the hill at Rendelsham, near Millicent – Limestone Coast South Australia. Amazing spreading and uplifting clouds made for a good back drop. Maybe it’s what nature is all about, putting healing oxygen back into our world….. Canon 400D 17-85 with CIR Polarising filter. Converted to black and white in photoshop CS3.

  • Stopped at Nigretta Falls near Hamilton Victoria on our way to Melbourne last week. Nice amount of water passing over the summit at the moment thanks to recent rains. Canon 400D with 17-85 lens. CIR Polariser to help slow the flow rate. No ND filter with me (Damn!) but the overcast day helped.
