This rose bloomed into mid Autumn due to the mild weather, the change in seasons shows in the leaves, which I feel adds to the character of the rose giving a poignant feel to it. !!
This was a little notice board left hanging in the Church. I was surprised to find this as everything else that had hung on the walls (The Stations, crosses etc) were gone. I’m not sure exactly when that little card was placed in the bottom left, but I assume thats were prayer topics and prayer requests were put. Its quite a poignant one to be left there. I get the feeling that maybe why no one has taken the board down.
I was wandering around a shop which was closing down and saw this figurine. I loved it instantly, and didn’t hesitate to buy it. I think it’s gorgeous, funny, slightly macabre, but, most of all, poignant! Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy it, and maybe, get a laugh out of it, and appreciate the poignancy in it, too.
I happened to catch this touching scene seconds before my cousin and grandmother turned to pose for the camera. They seem to be enjoying some great secret, don’t they?
They are always close by…we just have to see them. Will write more tomorrow….

When longing thoughts of a drifted love / Come into your mind to play / Remember to hold your hopes at bay / And love him away / When lost memories of a lover’s smile / Begin to mold your heart as clay / Remember the dreams his lips could not say / And love him away / When golden days spent loving a man / Find their way into your thoughts today / Remember the man lives in yesterday / And love him away

A shot of an old photo of my grandparents house which they lived in for over 50 years. I knew every nook & cranny of this house and it holds some wonderful memories… I still have dreams about it every now & then … I found this old childrens book from my mums childhood & thought the wording would make a poignant backdrop. They lived in Victoria Park, Perth, Western Australia / Camera – Nikon D90
As I drained the family pool in the backyard, a single Tulip Poplar leaf fell onto the side of the collapsed pool – as if I needed a reminder of an early autumn…
I woke up one morning to find that someone had written this on my fence…..was it something I said or something I did… I never could figure that out….. / . / . / . / and also avilable in a tee shirt version…. / . /
this is a tee shirt version of this photograph I posted the other day…. perfect for those times when a thought bubble is the best you can do to keep your end up in the conversation…..
a couple of days ago I posted an image called how poignant which showed some graffitti someone had left on my fence and while I was scanning some negs today I found some more photo’s with that graffitti in it it…. also a rather shit hot car….that is the legendary Tony Spanos driving my lads around the block in what was then his ‘other’ car… the main wheels being a gold coloured rolls royce which has turned up in my portfolio before … below it is featured in a photo called Spirit of Sydney….. / . /
another shot of this fabulous red car and a graffitti conversation on my fence…. I loved this car and so did the boys….
“She sits on the porch of her Daddy’s house / But all her pretty dreams are torn, / She stares off alone into the night / With the eyes of one who hates for just being born For all the shut down strangers and hot rod angels, / Rumbling through this promised land / Tonight my baby and me, we’re gonna ride to the sea / And wash these sins off our hands. Tonight, tonight the highway’s bright / Out of our way, mister, you best keep / ‘Cause summer’s here and the time is right / For racin’ in the street.” / -Bruce Springsteen/”Racing In The Street”
