Once a year the Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club meets up with the local Herpetological Society for a day of photography and a BBQ. The event is called ‘Snakes Alive!’ / They bring the snakes and lizards, we take photographs for them and then we all have a BBQ. A really great day for all. Our Club President then collects our images on a CD and gives it to their Society. A real mutually beneficial arrangement. These two are a breeding pair of the Pogona barbata (Eastern Bearded Dragon) with the male, (with beard), in full breeding colour. / They cost from $60 to $400 (Australian) and live from 10 to 15 years. This is a juvenile Eastern Bearded Dragon Pogona barbata that I came across while searching a pile of old fence posts in a great little woodland remnant while doing a fauna survey near Goulburn, NSW, AU. This Dwarf Bearded Dragon Pogona minor was watching over his kingdom like it was his own. I guess it was!! This little guy were living within the Acacia Shrublands of the Gascoyne region in Western Australia.
