The Royal Albert Bridge that spans the Tamar river on the border between Cornwall and Devon in South-West UK. / This railway bridge was opened in 1859 and was built by probably the best engineer of the Victorian era, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and is still in daily use now. / I took this shot on a cold November morning just before the sun fully came up. The town of Saltash in Cornwall are celebrating the 150th anniversary of this grand old bridge and of Brunel himself in May. For details of events please Click Here See my video on YouTube
When cars where still cars ….. not just a mere mode of transport. HDR image of this Plymouth Cockpit. Love the little levers for Throttle and HeadLight. My art with 1000+ views
This is a detail shot of a 1956 Plymouth taken at an auto show in Dearborn, Michigan.
A black and grey charger with skulls in the background and grunge design.
Another nice contrast of a dark bruise like purple and sharp yellow leaves.
Smeaton’s Tower taken from The Hoe in Plymouth UK. The stretch of water that you see going out to the breakwater and LifeBoat station is named Plymouth Sound and is why Plymouth is sometimes described as the place where you can Hear the Sea and See The Sound. See my video on YouTube
This is the first age that’s ever paid much attention to the future, which is a little ironic since we may not have one. Arthur C. Clarke (1917 – 2008)
HDR 7 Exposures, processed with Photomatix, loaded into CS3, converted to IR with holes poked through the filter to allow for the color to come through. This was taken at the Plant City Car show. I had hoped to get a lot more photos while I was there but unfortunately it had been raining most of the day so I think a lot of t he cars that were suppose to be on display didn’t bother to show.
After dropping my daughter to work early one morning I decided to visit the ancient part of Plymouth, the Barbican. It’s such a picturesque place, visited by many tourists. There are many wonderful photo-opportunities here, and I hope to share a few, especially some that may not be the norm from tourists. What I like about this photo is the clear reflection and detail in both the water and the boats. I’d love to know what you all think of this picture. Regards, Don. A Light Unto My Path My Magical Place / Captured in Plymbridge Woods Dartmoor. / Camera: Nikon D40×18-55mm Kit Lense. Recently Featured in / / A Place Called Home Though I come from Scotland, I’m most at home on the riverbank. I just love places like this in Devon UK, where you can walk peacefully along, listening to the birds and the rippling of the water, the magical light as it streams through the leaves and lights just a small portion of your pathway. Amazing sounds and smells too, especially after rain on a warm day. So earthy…. Yes, I feel at home along the riverbank:-) Sold A Card on Wed 22nd of April 2009. After an operation to remove skin cancer from my forehead. Ouch! that was really painful, but the sale brought a smile to my face, and that hurt again:-) LOL. Thanks to the kind person who purchased it. If you let me know, I’ll put a link in here. Bless you whoever you are. Regards, Don. Captured in Plymbridge Woods Dartmoor, near Plymouth, Devon. / / This picture is one is a series looking at light and shade. I love the way the light shines on the pathway by the riverside and in the distant trees. It reminded me of how God directs us through life, He chooses not to illuminate the whole of our lives, but to direct us little by little bit by bit, so that our trust in in Him alone. The verse of Scripture that sprang to mind was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. You can trust God’s Word to guide you through life. Hope you enjoy; A Light unto my path.

A Sunbeam captured at the old disused railway viaduct, now part of the South West foot and cycle path through the Plym Valley. You’ll notice the old stump of the derilict fromer bridge alongside. This old bridge collapsed, and they built the new one alongside. Nature is reclaiming the old foundations of both bridges one is more advanced in reclamation than the other though. Also submitted for letter B* in Alphabet Soup Group: Bridge or Beam. This Picture reminded me of an old song we sang at Sundayschool.* / A Sunbeam, a sunbeam, Jesus wants you for a Sunbeam / A Sunbeam, a sumbeam, You’ll be a Sunbeam for him. Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam, / to shine for Him each day. / In every way try to please Him / at home, at work, at play, A Sunbeam, a sunbeam, Jesus wants you for a Sunbeam / A Sunbeam, a sumbeam, You’ll be a Sunbeam for him. Jesus wants me to be loving, / And kind to all I see; / Showing how pleasant and happy, / His little one can be. chorus: a sunbeam, a sunbeam I will ask Jesus to help me / To keep my heart from sin; / Ever reflecting His goodness, / And always shine for Him. Chorus: a sunbeam, a sunbeam I’ll be a sunbeam for Jesus, / I can if I but try; / Serving Him moment by moment, / Then live for Him on high. A Sunbeam, a Sunbeam / Jesus want me for a Sunbeam. / A Sunbeam, a Sunbeam, / I’ll be a Sunbeam for Him. Edwin O. Excell, 1900: Copyright: Public Domain
Nature Reclaims: This is part of the network of Leats that supplied the City of Plymouth with fresh drinking water in the 15th Century from Dartmoor. Constructed by Sir Francis Drake; Commonly called ‘Drake’s Leat’. Now nature has taken over most of them, but there are still parts that are used even today to take water to Burrator Reservoir, and when it rains very heavily they are still used to take away the overflow.
My submission for the letter F* in Alphabet Soup Group. Plymbridge Woods and the River Plym: In the Plym Valley:* These falls are simply stunning and when the river is in full flood they are spectacular. Most times though they just trickle over the edge. In the summer months many children, families and youth flock to the river to swim and play in the shallows. A wonderful place for adventure, Tarzan-swings out over the river and picnics on the river-bank. I like the green of the undergrowth and the wild-wood feeling of this great place. / / Captured with a Nikon D40x and 18-55mm Kit Lense.

This is the Smith Bridge as we start to get snow. I’ve always love this view of Stinson Mt in the background and the curve of the road as it leads eventually into Rumney, NH. This bridge is located in Plymouth, once burnt down but then restored to it beauty of today in 2001.
