  • Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

  • All my life I have heard the saying ‘Measure twice, cut once.’ from the men in my life who worked in construction, but I never understood it until I became a home owner and began doing my own home repairs and remodeling. This is what happens when you only measure once. This would be a handsome gift for the hard working tradesman in your life, or office wall decor for a construction or plumbing business.

  • This is a painting of some poorly plumbed hot water pipes at my work place. The piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The combination of large granule pigments with the course grained Arches paper creates some very interesting textures. The original size of the piece is 7” x 5”. Featured in Water Media group in July 2009. / Featured in Painters in Modern Times group in August 2009. /

  • I have a client who owns a chain of bathroom fixture retail outlets, he’s just designed and built a new boardroom at his head office with plenty of blank wall space. He asked me if I’d be interested in doing some custom art for this boardroom so I took some shots yesterday at one of his stores. After shooting for about 3 hours I think I have about 5 decent images for him which I will print, matte and frame. Here is the first in the series. More to come.

  • Here is another in a series of images that I plan to present to my client for his board room. He is in the bathroom fixture retail business. Your comments appreciated.
