A early time outhouse adorns a modern house in jefferson county Missouri
This antique corn planter was one of many “relics” found out in the tree grove on an old farm place we bought on auction. I don’t know how old the plow is but when we found it, there was a tree growing up through the middle of the implement. It sits in my flower garden with roses planted around it now. This is one of my favorite images and was featured on the back cover of Country Magazine in 2006 and won the Calendar Contest for our local radio station the year before that.

Waterville, Washington I live near a place that has old barns and homesteads still standing out in the middle of open fields. I am hopelessly addicted to photographing these ghostly structures from the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. The element that is missing from viewing this, is the absolute spooky silence that envelopes you like a blanket while standing there.
Watercolour. 70CM X 100CM. I find zichron Ya’aakov, Israel.. a very inspiring place for me to visit. Every time I visit there, I take photos . In 2001 during a vacation there, I took many photos for my inspiration, as well as sat there , to paint. Since then every now and then, I feel myself inspired to make more artworks inspired by the landscape of Zichron. I made many artworks, in several techniques. This work started in 2001 ( using about 14 photos to build the composition), somehow, I didn’t finished it until the last weekend. Usually I prefer to work and finish a work ( 99% – I finish a work ). I so much enjoyed working on it.. As I almost finished it, I felt strong urge to go take photos of these Canna flowers… YET, I remembered that the last time, I was at Zichron, that particular place… I could not reach those Canna flowers because of rebuilding there. BUT… I SIMPLY HAD TO take photos of Canna yesterday :) and so, I find the way, to find other Cannas… :))... And that’s just a bit about how inspiration is LIVING And recreating itself inside of ME. For me one field of INSPIRATION, inspired another field of ART. Thanks for viewing, reading and commenting… May we ALL have a delightful day… Love, Nira.

We are having a big snow storm here in Michigan and I love it. This is the snow plow that our city uses when we have a lot of snow.
I went on a Photo Safari today…as I call it when I specifically go out with my camera to see what I can see and create. / I took some wonderful pictures and was very happy with myself. / Then on the way home on a rural road, I was stopped by flashing red lights at a railway crossing. / Looking down the tracks as I waited there, I saw what was coming. / I thought to myself, “wouldn’t that make a wonderful picture!” / Then, remembered my camera was at my side, resting on the seat beside me, I grabbed it, rolled down my window and took a few shots. / Oh, was I excited!!!! / This is one of those shots where you see the sight and wish you had your camera…AND I DID! / I giggled all the way home! / Snow Plow makes top 5 in the challenge Red and White in the Canada…The Great White North group / Snow Plow also makes it on to the Home Page! What a treat. Thank you RedBubble.
Drifting snow posses no contest for this Machines, Weighing hundreds of tonnes they plow through surmountable drifts of snow with out even the slightest of effort. Usually a Plow is installed in the front these engines which is effective enough to clear away larger portions of snow. However in the Mountains the wind cannot drive the snow as on the prairies and large amounts of snow completely cover Mountain Valleys with large volumes of snow; sometimes fifteen or twenty feet deep in just a short amount of time; under these conditions the Canadian Pacific railway needs to employ heavy snow removal Engines which clear the way for the freight trains to carry through to their destination.
