My daughter allowed me six photographs before she became embarrassed and stopped the shoot. I attached camera to my bike helmet and pre-set the camera to fire on delay release. A bit hit and miss but managed this lovely picture. No wonder she was embarrassed! / Taken at Les Hoffman reserve in Dianella
WILD AND FREE / / We were very lucky with our bear sightings around Spitzbergen in the Scandinavian Arctic, which allowed us to get some nice close-up shots. These cubs were around 19 months old and still very playful. / / / (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / / >< / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

ИГРА (pronounced IGRA) means ‘PLAY’ in Russian…. / ...and after a hard day at work, these Russian women play hard too. After many hours spent in the coal mines, there’s nothing these women enjoy more, than to dance and leap around wildly with their heavy sledgehammers. / Quite a spectacle to behold. Also in the series- /

Here is the image following ‘Red Ribbon’. My little girl worked out how to open the heavy back gate and thought she could escape into the big park at the back of our new house. I decided to add this image to satisfy the curiosity of everyone who wanted to know what she saw through the hole in the gate!

I tried to take some good shots but she’s forever running from the camera, she’s very strong willed and everything always has to be her way so here it is! / P.S.. She’s also had a big hair cut this week :o) / Taken with Nikon D200, 14-24 wide angle lens

WILD & FREE / / Polar bear cubs cuddle-up with each other on an ice floe. What a great sight to see! The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so! / / I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut! (Spitsbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / /
With this photo I used my softbox. (a sort of flash) / I personally like natural light better.
