  • Taken with a Canon PowerShot S3 IS, 6 megapixels. I took that image in front of an arena in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. This is a shot of a great hockey player’s skates in the Montreal Canadien Hockey Club. M. Jean Béliveau, #4. My image of this entire man wasn’t good so I put his skates untill I’ll get another good one of him. For a challenge… Sports in Statue and Such. Beliveau made the All-Star Team 10 times, was the leading scorer of all time for Montreal and the all-time leading scorer in Stanley Cup history as well. After playing a total of five regular season games in 1950-51 and 1952-53, he played another 18 seasons with Montreal, and in 10 of those he led the team as their captain. In 1981 he was named to the selection committee of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Beliveau received an honourary degree in physical education from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick. Beliveau worked for the Canadiens in public relations until 1993 as senior vice-president of corporate affairs but he maintained ambassadorial prestige with the team even to this day. In 1994 he became the only NHL player to be offered the position of Governor General of Canada, but Beliveau turned it down because the job would have taken too much time away from his family. www.legendsofhockey.net Featured in Public Art on February 21, 2009. Featured in Statues and Such on February 23, 2009. Finished in 2nd position of Top 10 in Sports of the Statues and Such group on February 27, 2009 / /

  • Third Base on a Professional Baseball Diamond.

  • Taken with a Canon Rebel XSI, 12,2 megapixels and a Canon EF 75-300mm F/4-5.6 III I went at a soccer game with my sister wednesday night to see our team, the Impact of Montreal. They lost 2-0 against the Whitecaps of Vancouver. One of my favorite player in Montreal became a member of Vancouver, It’s Charles Gbeke. He his a great guy putting a lot of his energy in the community. It was at night and the lightning provides from the soccer field. Brand new, from last year, Saputo Stadium in Montreal near the Olympic Stadium. I didn’t like the unclear capture but I love the style of that image so I decided to “posterize” it in Photoshop.

  • It’s been years since I’ve seen a vinyl record, but this one brought back memories of the wonderful wooden-encased Grundig player that we had when I was growing up. I remember only too well the first time I was entrusted with the important duty of actually placing the stylus (or needle, as it was commonly called) on the record and listening to that slight crackle before the first track actually began playing. The real reason I took this shot is not just because of the wonderful light across the record’s surface. I shot this angle because you can actually see the clear, ungrooved strips that produced silence between the different tracks. However, the term silence is relative. There was always a static-like sound between every track, because perfect silence was so hard to achieve on vinyl records. I still remember the first time I listened to a CD player, more than 20 years ago. Now that was true silence between tracks. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/90 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm. Featured in 60s GLORY, September 2009. Featured by my co-host in PASSIONATE ABOUT VINTAGE, September 2009. 116-8973
