  • Deep within the fiery heart of a volcano, it waits…

  • This is a combination of my 1st attempt at painting (the mountains), plasma clouds and ocean, and Palm trees from a photo. Also a little smudging and other effects.

  • Solar flares are violent explosions in the Sun’s atmosphere, namely in the solar corona and chromosphere, heating plasma to tens of millions of Kelvins and accelerating electrons, protons and heavier ions to near the speed of light. They produce electromagnetic radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum at all wavelengths, from long-wave radio to the shortest wavelength gamma rays. Most flares occur in active regions around sunspots, where intense magnetic fields emerge from the Sun’s surface into the corona, says Wikipedia. Flares are powered by the sudden (timescales of minutes to tens of minutes) release of magnetic energy stored in the corona. This is a digitally manipulated image of an omelette. • The entire text can be read in the writing section / Solaris is an immense intelligent organic entity that forms the ocean of the planet that bears its name. Solaris’ atmosphere is completely devoid of oxygen. The windstorms, fogs, mists and cloud formations that can be instantly vicious or solid are believed to be deliberate manifestations of planetary mind. The oceans surface is studded with countless small islands; many formed and located predominately in the southern hemisphere. Out of Solarias fluid plasma are generated an extremely diverse range of formations and an extraordinary range of textures. Many of Solaris’ manifestations defy conventional notions of physics on both the planetary and subatomic levels. Some formations are free-floating, multiwinged birdlike shapes and glowing florescent bodies. These rare independents are able to detach themselves from the planet’s surface, also creating a seal like form. It has been rumored that these alien creatures have been investigating the habits of earthlings and many sightings of thee black creatures have been reported including abductions of humans. Our government is very secretive about all alien crafts and life forms that have been sighted in the Nevada desert. The eminent Stanislaw Lem whose life has been threatened if he reports any of his findings to earthlings has extensively researched these events. The undulating surface is flecked with blue orange foam. The government believes that knowing the vicious nature of of the inhabitants of Solaris, some of its traits learned from human abductions will crate mass hysteria so my report to this group is deep secret. I hope to follow this up with more reports of alien life, some written about in Science Fiction Literature from the great minds of extraterrestrial scholars like Stanislaw Lem, Arthur C. Clark, Robert Heinlein, Frank Niven and Clifford Simak. Dr Simak wrote about his study where dogs rule the earth and humans are subordinate beings with inferior intelligence. I have followed reports from these eminent scholars given my love of science fiction and. I have notes on 65 aliens, some of you may know like Arthur C. Clark’s Overlord, Larry Nivens Puppeteer, Frank Herberts Steersman, Robert Silverbergs Sulidor and many more. I hope I can use my new and advanced Hubble telescope so that you can now visualize what could only before be imagined.

  • in response to muscularteeth’s robotic monkey, i’ve devised a machine gun/plasma cannon toting turtle bot… he may be slow, but he sure packs a powerful punch!!

  • the next installment… been fighting a head/chest cold all week, so this is the 1st chance i’ve had to work on it…

  • Candidate for America’s Most Beautiful Roadster…this is about as clean and simple as it gets. color: YELLOW ! Grand National Roadster Show, Pomona, California / January 24, 2009 Nikon D 40, Nikkor 18-55 at 18 mm Featured: Yellow Group, July 09

  • Another experimental shot using a plasma globe (from my school) and a 1 second shutter speed. This shot was achieved by turning the plasma globe onto sensitive and placing my open palm on the top of it. On sensitive the plasma globe will only react to vibrations. I had seen so many plasma globe shots so I couldn’t work out how to be original so I experimented. With my palm on top of the globe the plasma rays are directed to one spot. This gave me a chance to get the ray in focus on the lens first. Then turned the lights out (torch to help find my way) and with the camera already focussed and my palm on the top I opened the shutter for 1 second with an F/3.5 and tapped the desk beside it to get the one plasma ray for as short as possible time. This gave the effect you’re seeing here. Camera: Olympus E30 / Lens: Zuiko 14-54mm II lens / Shutter: 1 second / F/3.5 / ISO: 200 / Focal Length: 54mm

  • Nothing says science like a funky plasma ball. ‘Cept maybe a lava lamp …

  • Two Interceptors, while circling an abandoned alien edifice, are engulfed in a plasma firestorm that suddenly erupted from the centre of the building. A third escaped the conflagration. Fortunately they got out unharmed. / A warning for future exploration of this newly discovered world in the Fortieth System that is mostly ocean. / Hence most of the structures here are small cities built above the oceans. / It was later decided to abandon investigation into this strange world but warnings would be left for the future unwary. Created in Bryce 6/DAZ. / Criticism welcome as always.
