Something besides portraiture for a change! This piece won the College Foundation Purchase Award in the student art show I entered last April. It was my first ever entry into an art show, and I was shocked and elated that I actually won something. Needless to say, I am very proud of this image. © Cadence Gamache This piece was nominated into the Pay It Forward group by the wonderful Melanie Dooley. This one is some what experimental.. Wasn’t sure where I was heading with it but it does represent one of the simplest plants we know.. Wheat….It’s so simple and has been a staple food, well, forever! This image represents it’s timeless quality.

This is what I saw in my mind’s eye, when I framed the picture in the viewfinder. My eyes and brain knew it was greens and browns but that part of my brain that really sees things showed me this. Blues, ice crystals, winter on its way….I REALLY LOVE this!!! Edited in Photoshop Elements 3. / /

This was taken up at the Ornamental Gardens in Summerland BC, shortly prior to my run-in with the sleeping bears. I was sad to cut my photo taking short, as the colours were absolutely crazy beautiful! This is a very busy image…...and it breaks all the rules…..but what the heck :)
