Glowing and beautiful in the warm sunlight, these flowers belong to an insideous green creeping plague. Don’t turn your back, you’ll feel their spines lodge…
!The Rat Crown The world turns away / the hourglass sand stays / in the bottom / I am tired you see, of my sleep / and the nightmares that bleach / away pleasure / I am pensive and worry / that my dreams scratch and scurry / like a rat crown in a pipe of all endings Tails knotted as one / pull in each direction they come / to see getting nowhere and steer / in a nightmare unending in fear / a circle verminous there / even the rat catcher can fail in his sending Candle light flicker / in their eyes the dark liquor / of plague meat rotting become / malignant squeak in my walls / Secret rustle and sick stench / as my thoughts sudden wrench / away from my shiver writing tales Putrid lies that are told / as with bodies so cold / crowned with reason unknown / death like dreams that will own / death like dreams that are sown / entwined wisdom welcome or not The stench of fear can be brought / Think ye fear can be caught / both death and rat crowned / and in life reason resound / yellow teeth wind you round / pestilent wish that your reason you sought / This merits your life now so short. Mornings in Venice on one of its many Canals tucked away in a part of the city that few understand and with it’s twisting waterways and small alleys that few know how to travel. It’s amazing to watch as your gondola manages to take you in and out of this giant maze with knowing ease! One would wonder if a person lost would ever find their way home again!
This is three photos of Venice in the morning with out all the noise and commotion on the Canals and a chance to see Venice and its waterways as works of art as it truly is.
Seemingly ever watchful on the Venice’s Grand Canal these Gondolas seem to be on guard for income tourist as the morning mist starts to disappear in to the day.
Morning on a Canal looking out at this blazing white reflection seeming to be dividing the city in two ! As I watched this I thought about the art I had seen the night before and this seemed perfect and fitting to this city’s conflict with religion and Art and its tolerance that its cosmopolitan neighbor Milan seems to have less of.
This was another of those surprises you come across when walking with out your camera and I was lucky enough to live around the corner from this dead end and even got lost trying to get back to here to take this photo after making a right instead of a left ! Venice with its winding alleys can throw you off for a long time even after many trip down the same alley! The lighting seems to always give a different perspective to a street you have seen dozens of time!
Mornings on a Venice Canal as I sat and recorded my memory of a silent Venice and a moment in time. Each Bridge in my series offers you a chance to see another form of art in its purest.
Storm signals off the coast of Venice as I travel to my hotel in a water taxi and view one of the most memorable events of my trip white light coming through a wall of gray clouds creating a visual effect on a small island off of Venice.
A Venice Canal before mornings rush hour as its work horses wait for the first arrival of passengers to shuttle them to where ever they desire. This morning surprise reminded me of horses waiting for their owners to come and saddle up and ride off in to the sunset ! Thats a long hop in imagination from the wild west to here but Venice is a city of fantasy so why not dream a little and have fun this is the place for dreaming !
The most wanted serial killer in the world, in spite of efforts to find efficient solutions. Prevention is still the best medicine. In my zazzle shop you can find the same design showed on different models, colours and the backside printed with logo and instruction. Plus they print larger and their quality of printing is very good!
Ennomos subsignaria (The elm spanworm) / These disgusting insects are invading my back yard and devouring both the maple trees. There are literally thousands of these behind my house.
Donald the Deer having a scratch … even Red Deer are plagued by Midges!
In the Skree system a planet was discovered that was slowly been ravaged by a mysterious plague. / A cure as not being found,so the planet was put under edict,no one is allowed to leave. / It is really amazing to see cities that once were the home to millions just sitting there. / There are only a few thousand souls left.
Its a little 80’s in its styling, but hey…thats what all the cool kids are wearing these days! hehe… *Contains one part hearse and a second part Hirst…and voila! Besides the big DH has such an obsession with death i’m surprised he hasn’t made one of these himself.
This is my vectorized version of Robert Hooke’s great drawing of a flea in his Micrographia. / The copyright of the great original has expired, because in the United States, Canada, the European Union, a copyright term is defined as life of the author plus 70 years… Robert Hooke, (1635 – 1703) was an English natural philosopher and polymath who played an important role in the scientific revolution, through both experimental and theoretical work.

I couldn’t decide if it should go under humor or horror; it fits both. The Twisted Rhyme here is obvious: / “Ring around the rosy, / Pocket full o’posies, / “Ashes, Ashes” we all fall down.” The Breakdown: / Ring Around the Rosie (rosy here-I used an archaic spelling for no particular reason other than I wanted too. ;) ) When a person contracted the Bubonic Plague, they would gain rose-colored, puss-filled sores on their body called rosies. As the infection spread, rings would wind around the rosies. “Ring around the rosie,” refers to these rings. Pocket Full of Posies During the time of the Bubonic Plague, people realized that it was harmful to go around the body of someone who had died from the plague. The common practice in some areas of Europe was to fill the shirt or jacket pocket of the deceased with posies so that others would know to leave the body alone. Also-there was a belief that the disease was carried in the smell. In other areas, a small satchel with fragrant herbs would be carried to cover one’s mouth and nose-Posies could be understood for that ‘covering of the stench’. “Pocket full of posies,” was what would soon happen after the person started getting the rings around the rosie. Once the rings started to form, the undertaker would be called to prepare the posies. Ashes Ashes Once the body of the person who had died from the plague had been taken away, it would be burned. This is essentially when cremation started as a form of burial. There was a lot of worry that extra handling of the body could cause people to get sick. There was also worry by some that the body would come back in the form of a vampire or some other type of the walking dead. Burning the body was the only true option they had. We All Fall Down It was believed by many that eventually that Bubonic Plague would wipe out all of civilization. It is understandable why they had this belief because of the number of people that were dying everyday from the Plague. (Although, it would seem our ‘tour-guide’ declined to wait for some to die for the burn pile. ahem ) The Black Death killed off an estimated 20-35% of the population of Eurasia during its historic run. It was nearly impossible for anyone to not know at least one person who died from the Plague at the time.
